Not tough to prove at all. Documentation, like “license and registration please” is to be with the handicapped person. I was challenged once, a citizen had reported me and had a police officer waiting for me as I came out of a store. My placard, together with its registration number and my personal identification satisfied the requirements, and I thanked the officer for his service.

Trailer parking at Lowe’s, plenty of parking everywhere, maybe the driver forgot he didn’t have his trailer

This though the lot attendant (if applicable) sometimes asks for the ID of the person who owns the placard.

Excellent, I know in my story a page or 2 ago my friend used to get shit for this unfairly

Must be a bunch of pussies in Massyshootsus. Anywhere West of the Mississippi, folks would tell that parking lot attendant to go fuck himself.

Just enough to look kinda cool.
Haha reminds me, my dad’s gf lost a paddle board once cause wind caught it and the straps broke. But like a true pack rat I’m sure the straps my dad gave her were a few years past retirement.

Only seen it firsthand once, my brother in law and I went to a concert and were asked. No harm done, passed it over and was let in. Turns out the guy was telling me a little later people were "borrowing" one that wasn't owned by someone going that day trying to get prime parking..sucks.

We parked at a shopping mall in Corte Madera and my wife took my mother-in-law shopping. My mother-in-law eventually got tired and decided she couldn’t walk back and we didn’t feel like asking for a wheelchair so I moved the car to another parking lot, some Karen saw me jump out, able-bodied and run into the store to look for them, and she decided the police needed to have a word with me.

When we came back to the car, the police was waiting for us, he looked kind of embarrassed and explained the situation and then apologized for wasting our time.

handicapped parking is always an adventure.

I vaguely recall a tow truck driver telling me he towed a car that initially wasn't displaying a permit. During the process the local police responded, and I think the woman had a placard that wasn't issued to her, or maybe there was no placard to begin with I can't recall exactly but the officer said to take the car. The officer did not initiate the call.

This shopping center was ridiculous, they employed armed special police, who acted as security and would call to have vehicles towed primarily from the fire lane. The customers out there would park on either side of the road in front of the shops, and block the entire road at times. They had a nice huge lot, with ample parking that was about 50' away, but the customers were to lazy to walk 50' I can only describe it as pure insanity. They would also call for handicap spots.

Sad it has to be that way, a few jerks ruin things for everyone as usual. My brother in law barely uses his placard..depends on where he's going and what he's doing. If a lot of walking is going to be involved he uses it, not so much because he needs it when he leaves the vehicle as it is when he gets back.

Same issues in general, a few people have to be jackasses and this is the end result.

That's how I am. I try not to use mine as I don't feel right taking that space from someone who might need it more, but there are days when I know I will have problems walking and will use it if a spot is available.
Really the only time I use it regularly is if I am going into an area with metered parking. Having the "Oregon Wounded Warrior" sticker allows me to park for free in a metered public parking spot and time limited spots without getting a ticket for going over (I think spots marked 30 min or less are not included).

I was like that for years. You'll get over it. Thank you for your Service.
Look on your certificate. California exempts time controlled parking spaces.
Watch out for street sweeping days, they can get expensive.

I'm sure I'll get over it some day, but I am too proud as of right now. As for CA, I plan to avoid that state like a 2 dollar hooker with the plague.
