Ideally you just crawl it out not needing to step on the gas much. Or risk spinning tires on a slippery ramp and sliding back.

These tiny motors will be perfect for commuting, bringing the kids to soccer, putting a couple bicycles in the bed, etc. If we want to do real truck things than we’re going to have to buy a real truck not a people mover with a bed.

Two options would be nice. The turbo 4 banger for the commuter crowd and a decent 6 cylinder for everyone else.

More power still a bad thing I see. Been that way since 2016, will be that way in 2024 as well I guess.

Exactly. Just a bit above idle. I don’t think any turbos are building boost at that low of rpm.

PSA: you CANNOT place an “order”. Any dealer that tells you that is a filthy liar.
Toyota corporate allocates vehicles to the Toyota dealers. The dealership does not get to say or place an order. They are allocated every two weeks and emailed a list of vehicles.

deposits are refundable no matter what the dealer says. At least in California, it’s true.

Well according to all this logic the 190hp v6 out of a 1st gen can tow circle around all these new fancy high output 4 cylinders...It's not like they make more power or anything.

How dare we make more power with smaller engines. Not like we have been doing it for decades.

My Honda Accord generates more torque at 1,500 rpm than my truck does at all rpms

Facts about the specs on engines that haven’t been released by Toyota yet? Got it.

That’s not what you said about modern turbo engines, so that’s quite the leap.

Pretty much any turbocharged motor will have better torque at low rpm

The 2.4T, which is in mass production now at the local engine plant in WV, makes more horsepower total and more torque (at a lower RPM) total than his 4.0L, but sure turbo engines aren’t good for trucks. Never mind Ford and GM have been using turbo gas engines in trucks for years now, and turbo diesel engines are a tale as old as time.

But sure, they’re junk because some rando on TW said so.

I currently have an order in for a GMC Canyon AT4X with the 2.7T that’s been used in the Silverado and Sierra, which would be the fifth turbocharged vehicle I’ve driven daily.
