Is it even confirmed, by Toyota that those exact engines will be in the Tacoma?

 

Because I couldn’t find a 2.0T in the color I wanted. The 2.0T makes the same power as the 3.6 with torque available lower, and with better economy on 87.

 

The color is more important to you than the engine in the vehicle? Got it? Thanks for telling ME which engine I should want.

 

Do you think any car manufacturer would develop a motor just to be used in one model (other than special halo cars which we all know the Tacoma isn’t).

 

When the 2.0T that Stellantis released was so close in numbers, I was willing to eat a MPG or two.

I never told you what to buy. I told you that you’re wrong about turbocharged applications in post-2000 applications. There’s a plethora of data out there in the form of turbo gas or diesel motors, but here you are being wrong. Get what you want, but don’t be mad when someone tells you that you’re full of it.

Who knows. Maybe they want to develop a new motor that the 4 runner will share. We probably should just wait and see instead of guessing.

 

You can’t compare a turbo diesel to a gas engine. Also I’ve owned two turbo engines newer than 2000. I’ve already said that here a couple times. Pay attention.

In defense of this thread other forums are identical. F-150’s have the 5.0 guys v turbo guys. The new GM twins you have people bitching about a “little Cavalier motor” going in a truck.

 

People buying Jeeps and ordering GMC's while passionately debating Toyota power plants on a Tacoma forum...

I wasn’t debating a Toyota engine. I was debating the tech. I also previously owned a 2016 Tacoma

 

The back seat space is tough with a car seat. It gets better when they move to booster seats. Now that my kids are getting teenage size the backseat is getting pretty cramped again. There’s barely room for two kids and their school backpacks. Another 6” of cab length would be nice.

 

From the guy being you saying the engine that isn't out yet can't tow anything

 

As an engineer, I have nothing against turbos….., but this Jeep owner constantly pushing turbos yet drives the known problematic 3.6L Chrysler V6 because of “color” is the very first person on TW for me to personally put on my “ignore” list

The Pentastar 3.6 has been in production for quite some time now and being problematic isn’t one of its features. Mopar electrical? Sure. The engine? Eh.
