either sound like good choices. I went with the falkens since I live in the snow half the year.

Im not the guy to talk to about rims, ive always gotten mine used cause I abuse them too much to keep them pretty.

Lots of rain and some snow here too (just today in fact). The Falkens score very well for most all of the driving I’d be doing.

We were there yesterday. Not yet at full bloom. A local said in two weeks time it should be. Be careful if you go on the trails. There are some muddy spots still left over. With tomorrow’s rains, it should be the same for another weeks time. Sketchy stuff to be alone.

Did Vallecito wash - mud caves - Diablo drop off - fish creek - to coyote canyon then into sheep canyon. All anza borrego and borrego springs, CA. Very minimal water in the puddle crossings at coyote canyon.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    No shovel?

I have been in much deeper wet snow a few trips over the last few weeks, and did get stuck once too far into it. Thirty minutes of shovelling and then I backed out. That was 2 weeks ago, drove 20 miles of this trail. It has been hitting +7c even high up the mountains here and sloppy.

I have had several snow incidents over the decades, and shovelling worked each time. Worse case was me and 3 buddies shovelling for several hours after trying to locate an outdoor bush party when I lived in Calgary. Lots of booze and weed made the getting stuck more bearable. Never did find the party.

Getting a bit smarter about it now. :)

@Stuck Sucks I forgot to mention the severe pot holes on the main dirt road. They come up unexpectedly and are wicked. Drive slowly.

I forgot to mention Ballinger OHV from the other day. Great place for riding. Wheelin’ too, however, after hearing about downhill and uphill issues and seeing videos, I backed off on one of the sweetest climbs. Long, relentless, and possibly white smoke somewhere near the middle! It’ll stress your inclinometer. Forget that. Quick climbs it is. :0(

Flowers are starting to bloom, Carrizo Plain down the highway a bit, not too far.
