Yes it is! And I decided tonight would be a good night to experiment with pre-mixing margaritas so that I could just keep a jug of them in a cooler and mix them with ice. So far, so good!

I’m toying with the idea of a bourbon old fashioned or three tonight.

I did get to camp in the Copper Harbor area two years back. It was awesome. Literally right on the beach.

Me too please! Still a bit of a drive, but closer for me than most of the southern WI folks.

Uh, isn't the UP N/E of Eagle river?

Even if we're talking, Wisconsin/UP border, could be a destination, or a place to stay for a night or two along the way.

Sign me up I want to hear all about it,
I grew up in the south eastern corner of the U.P. but never really explored much west.

TORNADO WARNING FOR ELKHORN. Take cover and be safe if you're out that way my dudes and dudettes. (Edit 8:37pm - warning is now lifted)

I haven't been around all that long, but I think you & anyone else who have organized trips have done a great job. I'm completely open to new trips and I think the general concensus is that we are an adventurous group who like exploring near and far.

If I could make one suggestion it would be to help you lighten your workload of organizing stuff (well, maybe). Post #1 on this thread would only have a list of upcoming trips, dates, and a link to a post in this thread that would be considered the "main" post for the event. That event post would have an organizer. Sticking to this method - which for the most part you already do - might help save you from updating post #1 as much. Yes it would involve more clicks for people finding information, but I don't think that's a big issue. I don't know if this is even a good idea or just thinking too hard. Figure it just keeps things cleaner so people can see at a glance what the event calendar looks like.

Sketch is Coffee Talk. Just thinking about it makes me a little emotional...I'm a little vaclempt! Discuss amongst yourselves.

Just want to say I have not forgotten about that thread and I intend to post stuff from last year's adventure there...eventually when I'm not backlogged (or lazy) on processing photos. I have stuff from 2016 that still needs developing in Lightroom so don't get excited, it won't be any time soon. I have problems...

Brule river area is amazing and extremely wild & primitive in some spots, I love it up there. One of the gems in the state that doesn't get enough love - which is fine because it keeps from being "hugged to death."

I'd be interested to see who owns this parcel. That's where a decent sized group of high school kids and little old 8th grade me spent a couple days camping before hiking around Lake of the Clouds. Only vault toilets and bathing in Lake Superior were available. That's all I needed then though.

Hopefully that should make it easier to find some way to reserve it for a big group. It was awesome waking up and being right across Lake Superior. Just had to cross the highway and take a trail down to the beach.

Altho it might be an idea starting a new thread for everything it is just going to confuse people like me, (case in point that up north thread someone started, I totally missed that for like three month's). I think it would be easier to keep everything here where we all hang out.

Just going by the K.I.S.S. principle.

I should clarify: I don't mean starting an entire new thread in the Mid-West forum. What I'm talking about is making one of the replies on this thread the "main" place to find & organize all info about the trip. Then James can just link to it from post #1 on this thread rather than dumping everying into post #1 which can get messy. It's still very K.I.S.S. method. Hard to explain without seeing in action I guess.
