Lol. That thing makes like 600hp. I mean, if you want a station wagon/minivan then I guess that r is you. Ill take the depreciating sales pitch model for a year and trade it in for something else. Since you responded, know anyone selling a g500 for under 28?

Definitely comfy although I might sit in the glider/rocker that's next to it. That first chair fully folds out to a bed.

And speaking of pics, that's one thing I've even READ in a few books that are suggested to do cause you can't relive that first moment again (especially your first kid).

Next time we talk on the phone I'll tell ya about the screaming woman from earlier

@Tour991 you'll need to remind me to tell you too about it

600hp with a barble tune is meh. There is no instant power while you wait for the turbos. It's a cool engine but not a dominant engine from AMG.

G500 are sold for under $28k all day once their odo hits 200k.

I saw this for sale locally. 95,000 miles and really clean and well maintained; asking $8900. I know these don’t have the best reputation but I’ve always had a soft spot for them. I wonder if a clean low mileage one like this would still be worse than my rough 233,000 mile 80 series?

It's such a cool niche model. I love that MB made them. I didn't know the rarity was that level, that's amazing. Small club.

You will never quit asking questions on here (and the Rover forums) if you owned that thing.

I had one until last summer when I traded it for the Tacoma plus some parts I sold. The Rover actually looked a lot cleaner underneath than my 80 did, but tbf it has less than half the miles. My LC had a layer of old gunk and oil on the block and a lot of the undercarriage, like an old tractor haha.

The good thing about the Rover community is that there’s videos of professionals doing just about every common job on them.

Yeah you just couldn’t pay me to drive a Land Rover. I was interested in a similar one in high school, but ultimately my research led me to my 04 Tacoma. And a lifelong hobby/mental illness.

I won't tell anyone what to buy or not.
All I'll say is do not tread lightly into British made vehicles.

Yea ik. But if you were gonna buy one it’d be this one. The last year of the Disco 1 before they got too crazy with the electronics, and dutifully maintained and driven mostly on the highway by an older mechanically inclined gentleman. They’re also beasts off road: the axles are very similar to the 80 series axles, but they’re also lighter with a shorter wheelbase.

Oh I get it, I like old Discos. I like LR4s as well. Fan of old Defenders too, mostly for aesthetics, I wouldn't wanna own one, neither would my spine.
Getting rid of the Tacoma or just want to add a solid axle?

My gf kinda wants something roomier and comfier for longer trips and I'm inclined to agree. I'm getting older and the Tacoma seems more suited to my college days.

Also I love seeing these things putting in work.
