Hello..I had a revtek 3 inch lift kit installed on my 2009 tacoma when I bought it(3 up front/1 3/4 rear. Local Oregon company offered $289.00 installed. All factory equipment used. No modifications done other than cutting front plastic. This system did use spacers and blocks.
Really gave a very comfortable ride. Off road handled well. Able to run a 285/16/75 tire. No front turning rub but do get alittle rubbing in hard turn reverse.
I now have the RCD 4-5 in. system installed for $2300.00. Have to say it was worth the money spent. I dont beat the hell out of my truck but do like to have fun.
This system will be just fine for know. Really happy with all. I did add stainless steell brake lines and total chaos UCA at same time.
Will be changing in the future to a long travel ( allpro offroad ). This will take about 10-12 thousand. BAJA 500 here I come 2013.

Oops he just sent me a private message and said that he forgot to include 400.00 for the light racing arms. So those would need to be added in as well. Thanks Dan for catching that! :)

    Wife buying lift for husband!

I'm going to sound like a jerk for saying this, but I would choose to do something else for a surprise. Though what you are attempting to do is extremely nice, there are just so many options for lifts. Most guys like to research the crap out of them before they make their final decision. Personally this is a decision I would want to make for myself and should I end up dissatisfied, I have myself to blame.

My wife also likes to deliver big surprises, but when you’re talking this much money and this important (in his eyes) sometimes doing it as a surprise is not the best approach. Besides restocking fees can be pricy if items need to be returned.

You want to surprise him, show him this thread and explain what you attempted to do. Rather than buying him a lift, go to Bevmo or your favorite liquor store and get him a 6 pack (12, 30 whatever) of his favorite beer, make him a wonderful dinner, and surprise him with a card demanding inside it that he buy himself a lift because he deserves it.

    Just 2 cents

Relentless Armored! Too many others to list.
Looks like I come up with $724.89 for the components I listed aside from UCAs, but with w/ single AAL vs the 3 leaf I originally recommended. Sounds like they didnt put the UCAs in there... that adds $449, so $1173.89 with them included. If that price was with UCAs included, its a steal.
I didnt realize you carry a lot of weight with the truck, so yes go for the single 2" lift TSB AAL from Wheelers. Its what I have in the back of my truck. :)

Go with the OME kit, consider 886 coils if he already has a aftermarket front bumper and winch. I would not get the top plate spacers they will put extra stress on the CV joints and you don't need the extra height. Skip the Diff drop kit and instead get a set of 3degree rear axle shims to go with the Dakar rear springs. If you order your UCA's from Fat Bob's you can save about enough to pay for about half of the shipping cost of the lift kit.

Hey everybody, It's the real IluvTEA.

My wife surprised me and said that she did all this research to get me a lift, but in the end she decided to wait and let me pick out exactly what I wanted. Now I have permission to spend the money so I'll have to research even more. I'm a bit of a penny-pincher and I usually search the entire internet to save a few bucks. Wheelers does seem to have the best deals though. I'm leaning towards the OME lift, does anyone have one that they want to donate to my truck?

Thanks everyone for all the great info and for helping my wife out. She's the best!
