Phoenix has a big problem with wrong-way drivers and red-light runners. I recently heard their fabulously bad solution: extend the yellow light part of the timing to give more people time to get through before red. As if that changes anything for people who use every last microsecond and will in the future.

Not trying to mock the OPs suffering by playing conspiracy theorist. Just saying that if this does cause emotional issues (it may) I think no one has a good solution except writing 1000s tickets a day in the US.

Good luck with the physical and emotional recovery from this.

Years ago I was in an accident (others fault) that and hearing about and seeing some has made me question has anybody challenged the traffic engineering that have contributed? Especially when there are inconsistencies.

Truck isn't totaled, but the guy who ran the red light should be. Per a previous post I'm in Phoenix too, and the drunk drivers and wrong way drivers and drivers who just don't care are growing in numbers by leaps and bounds. I never enter an intersection when the light turns green until I check left and then right and then left again.

Glad you and your son are alright as that’s most important! As long as your “A”
Pillar wasn’t affected your truck should be fine with a new fender and door skin. After all said repairs are done. If your taco doesn’t feel right or drives funky. Trade it in. Frontal hits suck.

Not even remotely close to being totaled. As mentioned earlier: new car seat! Hoping the little person is doing ok as well.

Glad you and your family are ok, that's the most important thing. That said, you will find that what people say here is a WAG (Wild Ass Guess). No one here can inspect the truck and I seriously doubt any of the comments are from insurance adjusters, who would be the first to tell you they can't tell you anything without looking at it. The only opinion that matters is the adjuster assigned to your claim.

How do I fight for it to be replaced with new and for compensation for diminished value?

I don't think it is totaled. Mine was hit in the same manner. Insurance paid around $6700 to fix which I had done by Toyota. Could not tell after repaired. Glad everyone is okay.

No, this will most likely not be declared a total loss.

Update: So Caliber collision estimated the total repair cost to be $9,924.66. Geico estimated the total repair cost to be $7,735.99. I talked to my adjuster through Geico and he said I’m not covered for all genuine Toyota parts. I told him ok then I’ll wait until the other party is deemed to be at fault then I can get all oem parts. Is this correct? I don’t feel like I have to settle for aftermarket parts

Usually after two years an insurance company doesn't have to use OEM parts, but damn your truck is a '22.

A coworker had a F150 with similar damage and was totaled. Hard to know without getting into it a bit to see what was damaged.
