That was the plan originally but was not needed for my situation.
Instead Gabe setup a wire to the haltech with a switch that changes the target for the AFR when running methanol.
So I have two switches that I flip, one that activates power to the snow methanol system that I use for heat use and another switch that activates the target map to compensate for the added methanol fuel.
The haltech has a sync light if I remember that shows when it’s activated if you look at the program.

if I was running e85 or 100 octane or something then a 2nd map would work

Oh okay cool, I'm doing similar but for turning boost and ignition down for running 87 in a pinch while wheeling and another for some added sound effects (overrun pops and burbles)

No it uses a single AVI or SPI input.

A bit off topic, but is there much advantage to be had by replacing the stock (I think I have brown top) injectors on an unmodified 3RZ?

Nope, just runs much richer in open loop cause there's about a 55cc difference in injection capacity between early 3RZ and late 3RZ injectors. Having yours cleaned might improve idle quality and long term trims though, which would improve fuel mileage by way of fixing compensation issues.

Found out the 5VZ coolant temp sensor is M12x1.5 thread and so is the Haltech sensor. The Toyota sensor doesn't have a great calibration file for a Haltech and I didn't feel like boiling and measuring to make one. Easier just to put the haltech sensor in place of it.

So the Haltech coolant sensor is just a GM sensor, even says so in the calibration file. So I just bought a Delphi coolant temp sensor for a 2004 Chevy Express with the 5.3 and a pigtail for it. Fits like a glove.

Have or are you getting a haltech gauge?
Mine want to put this on your list.
    HT-061010 Multi-Function CAN Gauge
    https://www.haltech.com/product/ht-061010-multi-function-can-gauge/
    I just ordered one,
It’s absolutely amazing all the information that you can have at your fingertips all directly plug and play readings from the haltech and with upto 4 different readings at one time on the screen and multiple different pre setup pages that you can scroll to.
You program everything with Wi-Fi from your phone or computer to the gauge

I haven't ordered one of those because I'm going to use the haltech IC7 dash instead, but yeah wasn't I telling you to get one of those haltech gauges instead of using the old scangauge like 2 years ago :p

Because I already had a gauge I didn’t look into it, lol

but for everyone else definitely something to get and no scangauge needed then.

Big premium considering it doesn't actually do those functions itself and products like the Innovate SCG-1 do, for less. I'd be more willing to to the full dash too

Yes it’s a better deal the full dash setup.
Over the last 2 plus years and 60k miles I’ve put on the haltech as a daily driver Im really only concerned with
Boost, AFR, engine temperature and voltage which will be on my main screen page and doesn’t take up any space in my dash area.
I will have 9 more pages if I want to add more readings.
But that’s just what works for me

Can do all that with $150 worth of analog gauges and not have to scroll through them, but to each his own

well to get the scangauge to work anyways, you need at least an elite 1500 iirc. Not possible with the 750's cause they don't support OBDII

Anyone that has successfully tuned a 5VZ timing using knock control on the Haltech, can you please share your Knock Threshold map, and frequency if you changed it away from 6.7kHz?
I believe mine is too sensitive as it is rapidly maxing at 10deg of retard in many cells in low-med RPM.
