Well, found the bike, put the deposit down, and planned to go pick it up today as it's the only nice weather for a few days.... damn place is closed on weekends.:censored::censored::censored::mad:

Kills me that this kind of business isn't open on Saturdays.

That is surprising. Usually motorcycle shops are closed Sunday and Monday so they can have a weekend to ride while also providing service to folks who have to work Monday through Friday. You sure you want to buy from these people?

Put some stickers on from @spencermarkd (and other stickers I had sitting around):

    upload_2023-4-1_18-11-9.jpg

    upload_2023-4-1_18-11-25.jpg

I added these two here so I can remind myself to keep it rubber side down while riding:

    upload_2023-4-1_18-11-57.jpg

I also kept having an issue with the wire for my top box's brake light ripping out of the wire due to the wire getting caught and jostled around while putting my cargo in the box. I decided to take the PCB with the lights out and replace the stock wires with a little JST connector I had sitting around from my RC stuff.

    Before:

    upload_2023-4-1_18-15-35.jpg

    After:

    upload_2023-4-1_18-15-58.jpg

    Done

    upload_2023-4-1_18-16-15.jpg

Next thing to do is design and 3D print a wire holder to keep the tension off the connector area.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

North american availability has not been announced, but since it looks like it's mostly suspension (one gains travel, one loses travel) and farkle changes I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Biggest difference to me seems to be the TFT dash they're adding.

I completely agree, but we get the Tacoma and not the Hilux........so I always wonder why manufacturers do the things they do :D
Hell, I haven't seen if the Transalp will come here.

Funny thing is, the reason we didn’t get the T7 in the US was a wheel spoke debacle! Lol

Being a shorty......the Explore one would probably fit me better :D Perfect world, I'd probably take bits and pieces from each one

They both get it done. Chances are if you’re gonna seriously Offroad it, your will mess with the suspension regardless.

The seat height most certainly plays the biggest role for decision. Either one can be out fitted with a front fender for $100.

If the Explorer came with the hard paniers I would get that one, add a fender and tune the forks for my liking. Unfortunately it only comes with the racks, and you get to buy the soft bags or hard cases.

The Extreme looks nice with the blue wheels I must admit. Has that throwback look!
