I’m thinking the same. For yours, mine, and my buddy who got his today and looks same as mine.

    Plot twist.

Received the shields Friday. Decided to install them tonight after work and the wrong hardware was in the box.

Honestly, yes there is. He could remove the 4 bolts to remove the small brace whatever it’s called and just hold it up to see if it would even be close. I would not recommend removing the 2 long bolts of the transmission support brace until it is confirmed to fit. Those things can be a bitch to get in/out.

I ordered on March 2 and sent a email to them on March 31 requesting an update.

    Here is their response:

    Hey James,

Thank you for reaching out, unfortunately we had a huge storm with tornado like winds knock out power at our manufacturing building last week. That caused delays in our production timing, we are trying to catch up with our orders at the moment. Our Tacoma Catalytic Converter Shield is currently at a 5 week lead time, starting when you placed your order. When shipped we will provide a tracking number that will be sent via email. As for the new design, you should be receiving the update version cat shields. Thank you for choosing us, and please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thank you,

    Cali Raised LED Team

I removed the four bolts for the support tube and lined up the shield with the crossbar bolts. It's a bit hard to tell but I think if it's installed as per the video it should fit but it's tight and may take some finagling.

My suspicions were awfully close to the truth. Some wrong, but some right. 1st gen sold like hotcakes, finish filling orders, then roll out the new version.

Had my cat shields on for a couple months already. I noticed a little rattle but I’m not too sure it’s from the cat shield. My driver side side cat hits the shield like everyone else’s. Has anyone fixed this problem? And is it okay for it to be touching the cat since summer is coming so it’s going to get hotter. Noticed that my cat had a few burn marks.

I just really wanna say I've been coming to this thread and its truly an experience to see the motions the Tacoma community has had to go through
Still on the fence about whether to get this or not

The v1 shield being in constant contact with the cat is my biggest concern. Aluminum dissipates heat quickly, but there are multiple reasons (at least to my way of thinking) why this issue is problematic.

Several of us have requested replacements since it looks like v2 addresses this. I've received a notice that the replacement order is being processed.

I'm in the wait-and-see mode like everyone else here. If/when I receive the v2 replacements I'll give the driver's side a spin, hoping for the best.

Looking forward to hearing about other's experiences here in the meantime.

Do you think I should take my driver side shields off?

And so it continues. The only one who fixed the rattle was the dude who cut a portion of the shield away. This has to be a fiasco for Caliraised. If I have to put my version 1 set on I will cut it first.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I tried reading over this thread and I’ve seen some users added another washer or had to cut the logo out. I was just hoping it wouldn’t mess up the cats. Thanks!

Unless you're headed on a very long trip on a very hot day I wouldn't worry about it. Longterm though, it could be an issue and hopefully all of this will be resolved soon.

Several of us fixed the rattle and the contact with the cat issue with washers. Only one guy on here cut his shield, but he was definitely not the only one to fix the issue. I do think Cali Raised put these out a bit too soon, and they kinda dropped the ball with timing the orders and their manufacturing capabilities, not to mention shipping out shields not in the order in which they were paid for. But, I also think some of the guys on this thread are getting a little over demanding and huffy about avoiding throwing a stupid washer in there and moving on with their lives. I got a V.1 set, but yet I don’t think this company owes me another $200 set of updated shields when the fix was a free washer I found in my drawer and 3 minutes of my time.

Which bolt did you add a washer to if you don’t mind me asking?

Same question here. I haven't installed mine and I'd like to have it ready if needed. Did you need a longer bolt for it as well?
