60+ year old thread.

Morning 60+​

 

Good morning all. Seems like the weather patterns are strange this year we've had close to the longest stretch of temperatures below 40° set back in '47 it's spring and it sure doesn't feel like it. Now we're expecting up to a foot or more new snow Tuesday. At this point I'm ready for some of that global warming to happen here. Seems like the weather patterns are like they were back when I was a kid. But then it wasn't like shit I got to figure out where I'm going to put it, my snow banks are 4' tall as it is. Then it was wo ho let's make snow forts.

 

Lynyrd3 find a happy cup. That one reminds me of the coffee that gets made out rough camping..... boiling water and coffee grounds in a pot over the fire. I like a strong cup , just not the grounds.

 

Looks like fun came out on top over work.

Exactly how I felt on Friday after getting iy ready for the spring/summer season.

Good Sunday morning. We dodged the high wind weather yesterday. I did manage to get the chicken smoked and into the fridge for dinner tonight. Last night the wife and son decided to go to the water for music and dinner. Off to the gym for and then on to my niece's home for a yard work party today. Should be a busy day.

 

There fixed that. First cup of joe should be hot and inviting.

 

Gotta wonder if we will be getting the 100+ degree June we've had in the last years. Weird to have a June that is hotter than July and August, speaking of weather patterns like they were back when we were kids.

 

My birthday bride slept in this morning. I think she got her first good night of sleep sleep since she broke her hip. Joined that 70's crowd.

 

Wish the wife a HAppy Birthday and enjoy a good day .

 

Morning Folks .
Wind and rain with a lot of lightning for about an hour last night. I need to do a walk around outside to look for damage. I thought for sure my garage mounted flag would be gone, but when I checked last night and Old Glory was still flying . Hope everyone survived with no damage.

Dang, if this is creative cooking, I think I just lost my appetite! The guy that posted this is quite the chef, and aside from the looks of it, I would bet it's quite tasty after it's done cooking.
SO, the next time you have a dinner guest who you aren't that fond of, here's an idea!!!

 

Good Afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Somehow, I have more than the usual number of pics from the Austin show. Maybe because I went around twice. Always a random variety, and only a couple re-run cars you might have seen. So, a couple posts.... ignore them if not interested.

 

Was a youngster at 62 when I started the thread and here I am pushing 75 . Time Sure did fly.

Never get tired of looking at your car show pictures Kurt. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

Love your car pics. They bring back some great memories for me. In the 60’s and 70’s I was a muscle car guy. Really like that old Studebaker truck too. I’ve always been an old truck guy also. I Learned to drive on my dads 56’ red Ford p/u. Your pic’s make my day.

 

Always enjoy the pics. Kurt. If I still went to car shows I could post plenty of interesting pics. of muscle cars from the 60's, there is no shortage of them in our area.
The one car that I have never personally seen anywhere is a factory 65 Chevy B-body with the 425hp 396, seen multiple corvettes with that motor, but never a B-body.
One of my more memorable moments happened close to a Ford garage a long time ago, maybe 1967! I was at a stoplight and heard a weird but healthy sounding exhaust coming up alongside me, looked over and was staring down at the two fours sitting on top of a REAL 427 AC Cobra with the hood off, I would assume that it was at that garage getting work done and that the mechanic was out road testing it, and NO I didn't pick on/challenge it!

 

I was at a car show yesterday but I didn't didn't think I could take pics because it was a closed venue. this was there.700+hp 900 lb tork off the internet. Car is from Duluth,MN
