Just got them put on SCS f5 wheels- 0 offset. Got to test them is a big snow storm the day after getting them on here in the northeast, they were wayyyyy better than the stock wheels for grip. 1.55" bilstein lift in front, 1" block in rear

Right sidewall. Orientation on side pattern.

    Left sidewall.

I’d say there would be better traction on the sidewalls if the latter (left side of truck) were pointing like the former.

The left side would be better if it was pointing in this direction for ultimate traction.

Alright, I’ve had a few joints, so I’m good.

Falken, Ima gonna send you some photos to ponder. Only I’ll make sure to get out into the light and show the worst of it.

YES, I have been wheelin’ the “work truck” quite a bit. From sand to steep gravel climbs. ALSD jiggin’ away in 4lo. However, why is it that only the left side shows wear? The right side still looks as is when I drove it off the lot after an alignment.

The first four pictures are from the drivers side. Where the sidewall pattern is facing to the rear. It’s eating away at the outer edge, and along the facing wall of that particular tread only. I only took one photo of the front, but it was hard to get a good photo. It does show wear, but not as much or to the extent of the rear drive wheel. But it has the same tread only abrasions.

The final picture is of the rear tire on the passenger side where the sidewall pattern is facing forward(at least to my brain) with NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER. I couldn’t get a good photo of the front tire, but the same as the rear, In outstanding shape given what I have put them through.

All four tires saw the same action. Man, I really liked these tires. But unless the design changes for the driver’s side, I’ll be looking elsewhere when it’s time.

It’s not supposed to be done, but at 5,000 miles, I’m crossing or the left side tires are going to get chewed up only!

Any consensus on PSI for a stock rig (TRD PRO or TRD OR) for these tires at 265/75/16? I assume the door recommendation of 29 doesn’t apply to larger tires? Just got them on and I want to dial them in. SL not LT.

I believe the door says 30 for the stock 265/70/16 tires. Theres a website that calculates tire size if you upsize or downsize. For my 265/75/16 falkens it says to run 27 PSI. When I went into Americas Tires to get them rotated I asked them to set them at 27 but they manager said their software says to keep them at 30 for that size. So Im going to run them at 28-29 to be in the middle.

Lol - same story here. It’s 27 but Falken and toyota are too paranoid to admit it’s 27 for that load (116). And then the dealer wants to air them up until the are about to explode (over inflators). I think I’m going to land at 28-29 like you.

On the UT? I get email promos almost weekly but don't usually check as I'm leaning towards Falken Wildpeaks again but never see deals for those.

I'm hesitant about the UT because they seem to not do as well in rain. Any good feedback on that either way?

@phdog the Goodyear Ultra Terrain gets great reviews by many forum members. It has a great off road ability without compromising its on road comfort. It also has a promotion for the 4th of July holiday. If you purchase the Goodyear and are not satisfied, bring it back. Discount Tire will make it right.

I seem to be having the same issue as @Topanga Taco
My driver side front tire is getting chewed up. I have about 10,000 miles on these. Not a fan. Got them from Americas Tire. This is my second set of these Wildpeak AT3W and I don’t remember that happening to that set. I think I’m going to go in and have them take a look. Also, recently I noticed that when I fully lock turning to the right, the tire seems to screech. It’s almost as if the tire pattern is going against the grain, if that makes any sense. Any one else having this issue?

A HA! (Kid days watching cartoons, lol).

When I get a chance, I’ll look for the email that I sent to Falken. I’ll send you the rep’s email. I don’t recall, but I’m hoping as soon as I type Falken, it should show up as a suggestion. He said it was normal wear, but I was perplexed why it only happens to the driver’s side. They need to change the facing patterns edges for that facing tire(s) direction. It’s my gut feeling. I ain’t no engineer, but…we don’t know nothing in this Universe until WE KNOW.

I’ve looked past that, as the tire performs damn well. I think where it shines the best is hydroplaning, or lack of. During our downpours this winter, I was rolling out of the canyons on the 27 right before it dumps you off on the 1. I didn’t see a pond by the side of the road. Alls I remember was the truck making contact, A HUGE WALL OF WATER on the shotgun window side, and a small adjustment on the steering input, and thasit. I was blown away. I didn’t hack.

The only thing I’m concerned about, like yourself, is continued “funky” wear on the driver’s side. This tire was on the front, now rear. It’s beginning to characterize more :0(

    Might try Cepek next.

I put a set of Wildpeaks on the wife's Subaru 2 weeks ago - man does that thing feel boss on the road -
Great response, quiet too and ready for adventure.

I'm wanting a set for my SR5 now - will those 265/75/16 fit on a stock SR5 - they look daum good.
