3rd Gen REAR Bumper Thread (Feb 2024 Update)

I had an Apogee for all of 8 months before someone rear-ended me and totaled the truck, but I liked it. My only problem was I never found a solution for using the hitch for a bed extender.

I still have my stock bumper laying in the garage but it has some damage. Maybe off-topic but what have people done with the old bumpers if they aren’t in condition to sell?

 

Trash can. I sold the color matched bumper caps, but the rest of it I tried to give away and ultimately just threw it out.

 

You just threw them in your house bins or drop off somewhere?

 

I live in a condo with numerous large dumpsters and a trash compactor

Bumping an old thread. Anyone ever use the ALL-PRO OFF-ROAD APEXG3N Steel Rear Bumper?

Wondering what size the rear LEDs are & what other options would I be able to run (if I were to go that route)

 

I’ve been wanting to get one and would like to know any complaints about them.

I’d like the single swingout, the side rub rails, jerry can, hilift, ideally with the spare on the left side so at least I could see behind.

Reviving this thread again.

Removed Mobtown and SOS from the previous update as they are out of business and also removed pictures to clean up 1st post. Will list companies in alphabetical order and list all of their rear bumper products with price, options, lead times, weight and store link.

If you don't see a rear bumper or wrong/missing info then just @ me so I can update the list.

 

Still adding bumpers to the list. Will also update each bumper with parking sensor, blind spot monitor (BSM) and tow hitch support.

 

Went through all 33 pages and added every rear bumper mentioned that is still available and added links to Extreme Terrain and Bumper Super Store if you want to find something in stock or additional bumpers.

I think I'm pretty much done for now other than updating WarFab Armor info.

4xInnovations, no swing-out.

Nice thick plates & follows the body lines well. I use the receiver hitch on a regular basis either for a bike rack or towing our boat. Didn't want/need the hidden hitch behind the license plate.

 

I am surprised that we don't see more of these on here. They look good and are pretty stout! I have one on my 3rd gen 4Runner. Someone rear ended me a while back when I was stopped at a light. They were getting off the interstate and I'm not even sure they hit the brakes. They totaled their Chevy S10 and only bend the tire mounting plate. Easy fix. The rest of the bumper was fine.

I also use a 1Up bike rack and I am not interested in a hidden receiver. I think the 4X Innovations is a great option, especially if you don't want a high clearance bumper. I will probably end up getting either this, or one of the At The Helm options. If I did go with a high-clearance, I'd probably go for an ATH option.

 

Thought id throw a picture in here. Chose the CBI high clearance without swingouts for a couple reasons:

1. I like not having the tire/wheel show because it saves me from buying 5 wheels and tires instead of just 4.

2. The spare tire underneath is about the same height as the leaf spring mounts, so clearance and departure angle remain relatively the same.

3. More parts means higher chance of failure down the road.

4. Even though I went with a heavy bumper, it is still lighter without accessories. I have never been camping or road tripping or whatever and thought I really wish I had a table like surface that I could cut stuff on.

 

I’m also wondering about this.

 

Ended up picking it up for a great price.
Haven’t gotten around to put it on as of yet. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks.
