Just a heads up on the induction cleaning. 3 step process. Pour contents into gas tank for injectors. Spray throttle cleaning solution into throttle body butterfly. And the third I couldn’t find a dealer that had p/n 00289TECTL, as it’s used to apply the top engine cleaning solution to a vacuum port on the intake manifold to cleanse manifold and valves.

It appears alls one needs is a shut off valve, 3’ of clear tubing, and a coat hanger.

Back to your awesome regularly scheduled programming…yeah…I dig the music and ambiance A LOT :rasta:

Lol, not quite. I’ve done the easiest of the three. Next is the throttle body cleaning which doesn’t look too bad. It’s the 3rd that will stop many. I tried to get the top engine cleaning tool from a Subaru dealer, but the shipping killed it. I’ll try locally, if not, I’m going to build one. This video is good reference, but missing your vibes brotown!!!! Too bad it wasn’t a Tacoma, as I’m not sure which vacuum to use. They mentioned the one closest to the throttle body, but you know, some of be dummies, lol. Hence, why we dig your content.

I’ve always been pretty anal with the maintenance on my last 2 Tacoma’s, and never made it past 160k before they failed state inspections due to rusted frames.. this one is getting the maximum allowable time on everything!

Like a lot of you, this hometown’s thread helps to push those of us who are on the DIY fence. Using the op’s guidance vid for a front diff change, and using the “si se puede” attitude he shows us, pushed me to get Toyota’s cleaner for the throttle body. Mind you, I’m behind a lathe and mill working to tight tolerances, using a porting tool to improve port timing numbers…but the Taco…that’s on another planet, but I’m down!

Yep, I have the same thing (none) on my 2020 OR. They started reducing/eliminating them in my year (or maybe 2019)

I had a local mechanic check my driveshaft and he said there were no zerks that he could find. 2019 Sport. Although I haven't gotten under there to search for myself and now I have full under armor on so it's a PITA and I read somewhere that they can be "hidden" under a mud-encrusted boot or something...good grief.

My other tool box lid is covered in little sticky notes and what not on torque specs, tire pressures, fluid types, etc for many different vehicles and motorcycles I've had over the years.

The 11x17 seemed like a good fit for the inside of the lid on a new 5 drawer cart I recently picked up.

@Soft Taco thanks again for doing this!

Your mechanic is likely right. The rear would be sealed by 2019 for sure and the front most likely. Drive with confidence but maybe take a peek next time you’re under your armor in the front.

This is awesome! Love the maintenance chart image. That’s going up in my garage. Really great work. I’m due for spark plugs so this was a help watching your video.
