I read on a Colorado forum where Husky Liners were at a dealership measuring to get specs for their floor liners when the 2024 Colorado landed at a dealership close to their factory. Doesn't mean anything, but could very well be true, especially if Toyota wanted to keep it 100% secret until launch day?

already put a hybrid motor in mine out of the Highlander and glued an iPad to my center screen. Then to appease all the turbo 4 haters here I have a sound machine piping in V6 noises in excess of 245 horsepower!

Will it be crazy if it released on May 4th because it’s a 4th gen and have a. Commercial with Star Wars actors presenting it on tv.

Safe assumption that is how all manufacturers do things; when I worked for Mercedes we would always bring pre-production examples into the "RAP Center" (Roadside Assistance Program) and then invite aftermarket suppliers to come in and review engineering documents and take measurements; this would typically happen a few months before the official release of the vehicle.

While l agree about how the allocation system works, its crazy to say they dont allow any kind of orders. You can clearly read the fine print of the Tacoma Brochure where it mentions special orders.

in terms of ride and handling, the vast majority of us won't be able to tell the difference between coil and leaf springs in the rear. it's a change that's hyped and offers no real performance benefit with a solid axle. toyota would have been better off improving the existing crappy leafs but, moving to coils cuts cost. i get it.

as far as looks, picture someone with a ballcap on backwards.

Toyota will sell every vehicle they make. Yes they will, thanks to high resale value dealers will buy vehicles that don't move on a timely maner. They can sell them as used for a higher profit margin. Sell to the resellers who are prepared to take the loss when the time comes, or sell at auction. That will keep the used market artificially inflated. Then there's the slim minority of retail customers who are buying new vehicles, who can also do the same.

So have they announced any plans for tomorrow? Is there any sort of event? Or do we think it will just drop on the website/press release?

I test drove the tundra and noticed a pretty significant difference in the rear end. felt more planted and less jerky. could also be that its a heavier truck.

I just want to set this here for posterity reasons:
    • Double cab only
    • 4 wheel disc brakes
    • 2 motor options: 2.4 turbo and 2.4 turbo i-forcemax hybrid version
    • Rear coil springs that users will complain about sagging after the first couple of hauls
    • Weird rattles
    • Some poor first year folks complaining about shift logic and oil consumption
    • Poor fuel economy when towing

I'll try to think of a few more fun ones.

This… you would think they would have posted details of an event by now.

I'm trying to think of any gasoline powered vehicle which doesn't return poor fuel economy when towing. If someone complains about that, well, they probably complain about needing to put air in their tires as well.

Abnormally low fuel economy. This was a primary complaint from new Tundra owners and the TTV6. Turbo gassers are great for empty trucks, not so much when you're actually using it.

Edit: I would love to be wrong. I HOPE I'm wrong.

Agreed. From what I saw the only indication something may come out tomorrow is the discussion around the following photo. The plate looks photo
shopped and a bad one at that. Plus why post a teaser plate for a 4th gen on a 3rd gen?

Article states image was posted to Toyota Instagram but I'm not on Instagram so can't confirm if it's true.

I'm calling 100% clickbait :poking: on this.
