My ex and I used to look for spots like that. My favorite ones are on small, undeveloped lakes, perfect for kayaking. Some of them have a fire ring, and picnic table, and sometimes an open air pit toilet. Usually you have the lake to yourself. I love those kinds of spots!

@R.A.. @JOHNNYPICKLES did confirm that he canceled site number 149. Based on a quick search, it appears that all other sites nearby have been booked, so I will just have you hop on one of the other sites that has room.

It looks like I quoted the wrong message. Thanks for moving me to another site. I was also wondering is anyone else is running a CB radio nowadays??

Most everyone in the group has switched over to GMRS.

We pretty much ditched CBs a couple years ago in favor of GMRS, but I'm sure some of us still have them laying around somewhere for backup.

A few of us have 2-packs of GMRS radios, I'm sure we could find a spare loaner if needed.

Midland makes some good ones, handheld or fixed mount

I'd check out Buy Two Way Radios - solid store with good options. Midland and Wouxun (pronounced "ocean") are good brands.

As others may have said, GMRS requires a license. Pretty easy, all online.

I'll also vouch for Buy Two Way Radios. Ordered from them a few times, always prompt service.

I like my Wouxun radios, although they are the more expensive option.

After last week, this next outing is going to feel like a Sunday drive though a park.

It was relaxing. I just sat there while @Supr4Lo was pulling me up.
I told myself that there is no shame in it. I made the adult choice to drive down there knowing that there was only 1 way out.
I still haven't seen the video yet.
