Put them on the security bolts towards the front (I added a washer under each of those bolts so it would sit flush, so 2 washers total). Put them in between the frame and the shield. My washers are about 1/16” thick and I did not need longer screws, but any thicker and you might.

They are stainless though, not aluminum. I think aluminum may melt if in contact with the cats.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with Cali. The versions we have right now apparently without the use of the spacer can wiggle into position with freeplay. I'm going to give it a whirl tonight before commenting further.

For anyone that sees this and gets the cover version that doens't seem to fit right, they have a video that explains whats going on and how to just things lined up here:

IMG_8797.jpg I attempted to install the driver’ s side today no luck. I even remove the spacers no luck. Cali stated they had an issue with these so if you want to tried that second video without the spacers good luck. I reached out again to their engineer department. Hopefully they have a fix for it. So the options are tried the new video installation without the spacers or or they can send you out a shield that has the corrected bends. I went with option two. Reason I attempted to install without the spacers and still was not able to get a proper alignment. I re-install the older model just to keep a peace of mind. Note* removing the second bolt is not as easy as the video shows. Even with all the trouble after two hours I had all the original components back again. Will keep you posted if I receive the driver’s side with the new bends.

    Excellent feedback. Thank you.

I do really appreciate that the folks at @CaliRaisedLed are working to make this right.

I sent an email to them as well. Hopefully we can get it fixed. I just got my taco and I don’t want anything to happen to the cats

Just installed the V2 with the original crossmember bolts as directed. Everything lined up and the install took 20min. I would suggest pushing the crossmember bolts all the way towards the front in order to have everything line up nicely. Then just follow the install in the video.

Took the truck for a short test drive and no rattles were heard. I'm very happy with the shields and @CaliRaisedLed and Chris in engineering for all the assistance they have given me to finally have my cats protected. They have done an outstanding job.

Glad that the V2 fits! Did you get the V1 and switched to the V2? Or did you go straight to the V2?

Are those the supplied longer bolts on the transmission support bracket?

Lots of thread left. You're not adding the spacer and the OEM bolts have a flange to them so no washer needed either.

Ahh okay. Did you return your V1 back to Cali raised and they gave you the V2 or did you purchased them? Thanks!

So far Cali Raised has not requested us to return the V1, I had an issue with the driver's side on the V2's alignment. Cali Raised indicated that there was an issue with some of them. Moving forward they called me today and told me to expect the new V2 driver's side sometime this week. This one should come with all the bends.

So, you decided not to use the new hardware and kept everything OEM. I tried that route but still the driver's side would not align. After reaching out to Cali Raised they told me over the phone that they had some issues with the first ones they send out and to expect the corrected one sometime this week. Thanks for your input.
