I bought my truck in 2020 and The previous owner gave me 2 viper remotes but said he never used the system. I looked and my truck has the Unit behind the kick plate. I am looking to order the OEM Toyota fob but i am wondering if the existing viper system will interfere? I dont use the viper system. If I go through the setup process and erase all keys and add the new OEM one that should work right? Thanks for the help!

Honestly man, I don’t know anything about the viper system. But I’d bet if you have the unit the new key fob should set up just fine.

My 2004 had a viper crap system installed by the previous broheim owner. It eventually drained my brand new AGM battery to death. Then once I was able to condition the AGM battery back to life, the viper crap system never reset itself.... or worked again.

I haven't uninstalled it from the circuitry either.

Then I found the OEM key fobs for keyless entry that came with the truck. Tested them out and they lock and unlock the doors just fine. Even with the viper crap system still hooked up.

Awesome man! This is the exact same boat I’m in, Thanks for the reply I appreciate it! I dont plan on uninstalling the viper system because it doesn’t do anything just like yours, would be more of a headache to remove it all and chase down the wires.

After about 1 week with the OEM fob programmed to my truck I am having some issues. While sleeping last night at about 2am my horn began to sound, full blast straight through, not beeping or sounding like an alarm. I could not silence it at all and eventually had to disconnect my battery. Around 8am I reconnected the battery and at around 10am the horn started going again. The only change to the truck recently has been the addition of the new remote. I cannot figure out why the horn would sound like this. I think I’m going to try deleting the Fob from the system and see if the horn sounds in the middle of the night again. Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Any chance the new fob could have the panic/alarm button stuck? Or some short in that button?

Tried 4 FOB's and OP's instructions and couldn't get it to work on my '04 DC SR5.

I have tried throughout the years to disable the auto lock feature but never successful. Anyone have the same issue?

Did you check to see if you have the RS3200 receiver?

Nope, never had an issue. Mine only auto-locks when unlock it with the fob and then don't open a door for a minute or two.

I had two FOB's that worked. The unlock micro buttons on the circuit boards broke off.

The two original FOB's only locked the truck. Using OP's procedures, I erased all the programs. Now, nothing works.

Why? Cause your circuit boards are busted?

The mirco swithes and all other components are surface mounted and soldered to the board. The board itself is in one piece.

I was able to solder the micro switches back on the board. Using OP's instructions I got the FOB to work. Additionally, I ordered OP's recommened FOB an got it to work.

Wow, I just ordered my fobs from Amazon, and when I got them I went on YouTube and programmed them myself. I had a Toyota security receiver on my dash, under the radio. The manual said that they came with the electric windows and mirrors package. The manual also tells you what the fobs frequency is to order the right fob.

By any chance does anyone know what frequency the remote transmit at?

NM, it's 303.89 for anyone wondering.
