Took ideas from the DIY Hi Lift and Tool Mounts thread and fashioned Quick Fist homes for the seemingly required but actually unused shovel (Ace) and axe (Estwing camping). Strapped a 10in Corona folding saw to the axe with elastic Velcro cinch straps. I have the Bakflip MX4 cover so my rails are lower and no room for both on one side. I ended up making 4 mounts using chrome spacers rather than stacked fender washers. Also spray painted the aluminum. A little project to pass the time…

Really nice truck man. Nice wheel and tire choices. I suspect your getting a slight rub when the front wheels are turn about half way while in reverse. Ask me how I know.

Thanks. Yep, I do get a rub. Though I've noticed it only when I turn into a 'dip' - I must not be turning in reverse often as I haven't noticed that yet. Its unfortunate as from what I read I thought I was in the clear, but no.

Yep, turning into a dip did it too... mild. I thought I'd be in the clear also. It's the OEM mudguards, which I like them on to keep rock chips to a minimum. I ended up doing 5100's set to 1.55" and a AAL3 in the rear to get rid of the rub. But that led to also doing the ECGS bushing also. It's a slippery slope so be careful, LOL. I installed everything myself cause I enjoy stuff like that. No regrets, except my truck is a little harder to get in and out of since I'm 5'7" and wife is 5'5". And this let me to getting side steps that I'm uncertain about.

RCI sliders. Flew solo with a floor jack & 2x4. Regarding the two common troublespots: 1) Pre-threaded the bolts to ensure they would thread smoothly. Then used painters tape to hold the ‘support bracket frame inserts’ in place and they held enough to get threads started. 2) No good tricks for the forward-most-inner-frame bolts. I did drop a nut and used a grabber tool with a magnet heavily taped on the end to fish it out. All in all not bad but be patient with yourself. I thought the jack approach worked fine - but having a friend can still be good to help avoid potential stupid moves.

A bit. Removing the decal wasn’t bad using a heat gun carefully and working slowly to do your best to keep the decal in one piece. As you will find searching here and YouTube, the fun starts with any residue left behind – which, for me, was a lot. Took a combination of rubbing alcohol, goo gone, microfiber towel, my thumbnail, elbow grease and time. Many posts will say easy peasy with this solvent or that eraser wheel, but it all depends on how much residue is left and what you have on hand (or want to buy) to attack it. I didn't want to use acetone.

Maybe. I probably should have waited for a warmer day, though I had it in the sun and the metal was pretty warm. I tried simply pulling it off without heat gun and that wasn't happening. Was using heat gun on low, FWIW. Was a little bored and dove in weather notwithstanding.
