I grew up in NC and always thought the purchase permits were the dumbest law ever. It encouraged me to get my CCW as soon as possible when I turned 21 so I could avoid the permits.

It'd be alot easier to keep up with the laws if they weren't constantly trying to change them.

It's been a nightmare keeping up with all the new BS they're trying to force on us here in the PNW over the last few years.

Arkansas is the same way. Several state representatives asked the AG to identify the specific law that prohibits carrying concealed without a permit and the response was effectively "there isn't one but we'd prefer if you got a permit." BUT there's some legal ambiguity with intent if you don't have a permit and no NICS check if you do have a permit so I maintain my permit.

Yeah, I don't really get the point of the new FL law. If you can't pass the actual CCW background check, you're not supposed to carry under the new "permitless" version either. The last stat I saw from FDACS said they deny more than 8,000 applications per year. After all, this is FL, though, so I am sure that some people will be confused.

You got that right, They just try muddying the water as much as possible. Either way, keeping my permit up so I can still walk out same day.

Texas is constitutional carry. You can also get a carry license, which entitles you to forgo the point of purchase background check. Without a license, the background check takes 10-20 mins depending on database demand. Still same day unless the database would be down for some reason.

NC is getting to be like that now too - OH, NJ, NY - feels like I am back in FL sometimes..

If I lived in the city, it would annoy the f*** out of me

Arkansas seems to be getting a lot of people from Texas. Which I don't necessarily mind because I like most of the Texans I've met BUT none of them can f'ing drive. Left lane w/o passing anyone, 5 mph under the speed limit, brights on, and texting. Arkansans do the same thing but we need to deal with the bad drivers we already have before we take on any more from out of state.

    Same crap everyone else got
Had no internet for most of the day while working from home, so went to the range to test some things. Today I learned:

    1. If you have a 43x mos or any mos probably, you need to use the short screw on the extractor side of the slide to mount an option bc the long screw will pin down the extractor plunger spring and your gun will not eject anything.
    2. Steel City arsenal g19 trigger safety screws can back out. Found it in my hand after a few rounds. Took me a second to figure out what it was until I saw the safety on the trigger dangling. Easy fix. Will probably locktite it now.
    3. Daniel defense 11.5 and Geissele super gas block don't like weak tulammo. I have an 11.5 upper built out of all BCM parts minus the gas block. Barrel was BA 11.5. It ate everything. I got a deal on a Daniel Defense 11.5 barrel ($100) so I changed it out. It will not cycle tulammo. Out of the 50rds only once did it even attempt to strip the next round off the mag and even then the face pinned the round before it could get to the chamber and I had to clear it. Lower has a armspec srs H2 (think JP silent capture H2 but cheaper) in it and worked fine with weak ammo and the BA barrel. Guess I'll have to change it to a H1 set up like I had to do with my DD Mk18 to run weak ammo. Curious to know if it will run the H2 in either of those once I get my can on them.

Wasn't a fun day at the range but a very useful one.
