Hi. Do you guys know if a 17 x 9 wheel with -12 off set and 4.5” back spacing with 265/65/17 wheel will rub on a stock 2nd gen Tacoma?

Should be fine. Since it’s only 30” tall. Might need to pull mudflaps. Imo I’d run an 8” or 8.5” wheel. I like to keep wheel width at least 2” smaller than the tire section.

What wheels? The Tacoma is hub centric so the center bore on the wheel needs to match the hub size or you'll get vibrations like the wheel is out of balance.

What makes you think Tacoma wheels are hub centric?

What makes you think they aren't?

You can do a quick search to confirm if you'd like...I'm happy to wager a virtual beer that Tacomas are not lug centric.

Can you use hub centric wheels on a Tacoma-Yes. But you don't have too. Hub Centric/Lug Centric it all depends on the wheel and then one will need the proper corresponding lug nut. There may be Hub Centric after market wheels but I would wager most are centered by the lug nuts. Do the wheels require a tapered seat or a flat faced lug nut.

Did you search or are you assuming? Lug centric wheels often lead to out of balance issues on Tacomas. The popular aftermarket options are hub centric for a reason. Factory wheels are hub centric, the same with SCS and Methods.
