Does your factory USB port still charge the phone and connect it to the head unit? Do you still have the speedometer in the center cluster between the gauges?

Yes and yes, everthing works. You need a iDatalink MAESTRO ADS-MRR + HRN-RR-TO3 T-Harness for Select Toyota 2018 & UP, https://www.ebay.com/itm/164317569964

    If it's for a '17 you need iDatalink MAESTRO ADS-MRR + HRN-RR-TO2 T-Harness, https://www.ebay.com/itm/164155857949?epid=9021682005

There’s only one usb on my ‘17 OR and it still works for charging - the kit connects it to the head unit’s usb-c port.

I like the Stinger Heigh10. No wireless carplay or android auto but there is the wired version. I also lost the turn by turn navigation and song info on the dash but that was it. Really plug and play, no Maestro needed either.

Definitely Crutchfield. That's always may go to. They will have what you want and your budget is very generous. You should get new speakers too. I still have my factory radio but have an alpine power pack amp and kicker speakers with Subaru tweeters. The factory speakers really aren't great at all. to me its essential to change out those.

Sure is. It's at 29:10 of the video. XM and GPS antenna adapters are both in the kit.

Sorry, two more questions. Does this require the pioneer mic and if so, where and how did you mount it? I thought I saw somewhere a 3d printed bracket that holds it into the overhead console? Secondly, is there any splicing of wires needed on this install or is it all harnesses?

I have the Alpine ilx-507, so far been happy with it. Wireless CarPlay, HD Radio and supports lossless audio where big selling points for me. Also can get an optional bluetooth volume knob which I do enjoy having.

Those Pioneer 6600's sure do look good. Almost looks like it belongs from the factory

I too have the Pioneer WC6600NEX.
As long as you have the larger Entune HU, then the Pioneer will fit near perfectly into the same space. Practically looks OEM. If you have the smaller Entune HU, then you will need the dash trim with the larger opening.

If you use the OEM mounting bracket, you will need to modify it by drilling some holes. If you are coming from the smaller Entune HU, which has a slightly different bracket, you might need to drill more holes, or use washers to push the headunit out just enough to be flush.
    20220511_175942.jpg

To keep the factory USB plug, you will need a cable adapter. You can charge or use it for AA/Carplay.

With the Maestro RR, you keep nearly all factory settings. While the navigation tab in the center media screen is still there, you will lose all OEM navigation functions. So the speed limit notifications are gone, if you use that.

Also music/Media tab is visible with info, but function is limited depending on the media source. AA/Carplay won't let music change using that screen, but Bluetooth music works as normal, etc.

You can get everything via Crutchfield. They will provide a kit and everything needed for your truck. You will need to put the harness together yourself though. Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX Information Thread

Harness for what? Is there splicing involved? I thought it was all harnesses and basically plug and play?

At this point man, I was so excited to make the swap but am just overwhelmed at all the posts, threads and parts everyone is saying I need. Some posts are 3 years old, some are newer, some people saying you have to tap into wires, some saying you have to make your own harness, yet Crutchfield wants to sell me like 5 harnesses for the install. Just very confused.

Please look this over and let me know if I have captured everything I need.

I'm honestly looking for anyone that has done this project to swap cell phone numbers with me and be so kind as to let me call with questions during the install or better yet, if you live in a nearby state I will literally take a road trip to your location, bring beer, and pay you for install assistance.

Yes, it does. I have seen others just route it up to the OEM location, disconnect the OEM mic and tape/glue the mic in the same spot. Other like myself have either mounted it in another location around the dash. I have mine just sitting in the cubby below the radio because I'm lazy lol.

Only splicing you will do is connecting the speaker cables, remote, etc. if you have aftermarket components. If you are connected to stock setup it's just plug-n-play.

For the most part, if you pair the HRN-HRR-TO2 T Harness with a ACC-HU-PIO1 Pioneer adapter, then it is practically plug and play. You won't need to splice, maybe except for the blue trigger wire, which is for the antenna if you need the radio range.

Correct. I just did the Alpine install and went with all the adapters/harnesses via Crutchfield. The only wire that required a "splice" was the power antenna. With that said, the HRN-HRR harness had a male spade connection already on it, so I just had to crimp a female spade on the antenna adapter for the connection. If you aren't replacing any speakers or anything else, then it truly is plug and play if you get all the adapter harnesses from Crutchfield.

I will add that the Kicker/Subaru drop in tweeters are definitely worth the money in addition to a head unit swap. Plug and play and takes maybe 10 minutes a side to install.

Not sure what model year you have. My 22 has the OE mic placed in front of the driver-side visor. As of now I have the pioneer mic dangling from top of A pillar but it’s temporary.

I have the enfig mic with the pioneer adapter - https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-toy1/

that had not been installed yet. I will be installing that in the other OE mic location which is the Center overhead console.

i have some other things I’m doing like adding some sound deadening and closed cell foam so I’ll install the mic when I drop the headliner.

no splicing. Got everything from crutchfield. You don’t need their ready harness since you’re getting the maestro.

The only annoying thing is one of the harnesses that plugs into the module containing the reverse wire is missing that pin so that is the only wire you have to splice or tap into. I think it was a gray wire. I just called crutchfield and they told me which wire it was right away.
