If it's like the Tundra, the hybrid powertrain will be a big power-adder with no fuel economy benefits (but no penalty either). As such it will be positioned more like its own trim, a bit like the 4th gen 4Runner V8 or Wrangler 392. Want hybrid? Starting price $80k...

Gunna be over designed with too many angles and cuts. I’ve been feeling that from the patent leaks. Even the tailgate latch surround has very unnecessary angles.

Of course Toyota teases the new Tacoma in the TRD Pro config which most people will not be buying. Not to mention the teaser we saw was for another teaser smh. If I remember correctly the 3G Tacoma had actual photos leak before the official unveil. Hoping that happens again.

For the Tundra the hybrid is optional in Limited, Platinum & 1794 trims and standard in Capstone & TRD Pro

I've got a new 2023 TRD OR coming in two weeks. I'm definitely willing to trade for a 4th gen but not for at least a couple years simply because I won't buy a first year of a new gen. If Toyota really wanted to make a perfect truck, they'd just put in a detuned version of the Tundra v6 but we all know that won't happen. Its basically guaranteed to be a 4cyl.

Looks much closer to midcentury. 1910s are little putt-putt go cart sorta things.

Most likely the bumper wings have similar angles. Just an athletics thing.

Haha overall it just looks like a trapezoid puzzle it’s too much, can’t wait to see the wheel wells and rear bumpers, slice and dice everywhere

makes it feel cheap, new ‘futuristic’ but will not be a timeless look. Not a fan so far, gotta wait another 4 months now for next leak maybe it redeems itself.

Can we take a minute to fuss about how annoying YouTube-type thumbnails are with the person with the ridiculous, constipated expressions in the corner? I purposefully never click them if they’re annoying-looking like that, though I understand the algorithms give you more exposure if you use images like this. I guess people will click on the confused idiot thumbnail more often or some high-power execs think they will. I’m not sure what this has to do with the new Tacoma, but it looks like we’ve already exhausted the teaser discourse.
