Bolt On Satoshi!!!!!!!!

There needs to be an initiative taken to create a plastic drop in instert to cover where a grille is cut out to simplify the satoshi process. I would do this myself if I had the resources available to me. I know that there is a market out there for satoshi inserts just from exploring this forum and others like it. Four runner, tacoma, tundra, and even land cruiser owners love the satoshi grille but the difficulty of making one detures most.

i think hes talkin about the actual part from the stock grille where u have to either fiberglass repair or cut out another plastic and epoxy to fill in the gap

 

He makes the mesh, but it still requires body work to install what he makes. Im looking to make somthing that all you do is cut out your current grile and color match it and silp it in and add a grill to eliminate body work. kinda like a cover for where you cut out the grille.

 

Yep... Looking into a local plastic injection moulding company to see if the $$$ is viable... Have a meeting next week.

Yeah that would be nice, Im a little weery of cutting up my grill and seeing if I have fiberglass skills myself.

You are saying like making something that fills the inner part of the grill, so it covers up the area that has been exposed (the one requiring fiberglass and bondo) once you cut the grill?

 

actually no Fiberglass is needed, just some plastic epoxy and bondo. Easier to do the the fiberglass method.

 

no need for any body work if your grill is flush

 

yep exactly like made out of the same plastic that a after market fender flare would be and should be painted.

I say just get a grillecraft if you're that concerned about it. 1/2 the fun is doing the work yourself!

 

yea there is a write-up here that shows how to make patch panels out of the crossbars you cut out and then epoxy into place. SUPER EASY

This has nothing to do with my job at HD or any vendors I'm affiliated with through work.
There is a company here in the Philly area that is in the same business development as one of my customers.
My thought is to create a mold and mass produce a completed satoshi inner section of the grill that can be added to your existing outer surround, then any grill mesh could be used to complete the Mod.
This would be an excellent alternative for those that lack the time/patience/skill to take on the satoshi project.
I believe the final result being a manufactured product has the potential to look cleaner and be more durable because it would not need to be painted...
