Well that's a 3cyl and a non hybrid. I would love for my reg Yaris to sound like that though. Today is the first day I took it out of the garage since winter.

And yeah at the end of the day we will get the opportunity to customize the fuck out of the trucks! Imagine, turbo tune that engine to 500hp and upgrade the rear with 14” coil overs, geared and double locked. Actually salivating! Lol

I wouldn't mind an AC 3t 6spd manual Tacoma. I'd like it to be much quieter than that Yaris hp and tq numbers sound good.

I think the majority of us are ok without ‘creature comforts’ so that we can still proudly say we have a reliable, somewhat simple truck that doesn’t have an abundance of buttons and switches that I’ll never use. I honestly would rather have drum brakes too because for 3 generations of Tacomas I’ve owned I’ve never been driving down the road and thought ‘damn, I wish this had rear disc brakes.’

Toyota Corp is absolutely about the numbers. Sneaking a taco into their injection mold as an easter egg, sure. Offering a long bed configuration that costs WAY more than that? That's numbers driven. If it comes with a long bed, it's because the numbers made sense to Toyota. If it doesn't, then it's because it doesn't make sense to Toyota.

Toyota has nothing to be faithful to, they sell the most popular mid size truck no matter what they do. If they don't see the sales justification for manual, long bed, etc - they won't do it. They aren't there to lose money. It's why the Ranger didn't come with a manual, no benefit to the cost to engineer one into it vs. dumping the 10R80 in all trims and calling it a day.

In manufacturing this is called an 80/20 analysis (similar to a Pareto), where you see your highest sales - the top 20% of your SKUs are bringing in 80% of the revenue. You'll focus on that 20% to drive more revenue, and the other 80% of your SKUs will be lower priority, and reviewed for obsolescence.

Seems Toyota is upping the sticker price closer to actual transaction prices the last couple of years (so dealers have less room to tack on "market adjustment"). Toyota already declared their *average* transaction in 2022 was over $50k, this is average across all models from Corolla to Sequoia. Wouldn't be surprised to see TRD Pro or Platinum/Capstone going for $80k...

It won't be that long before they release the truck. It'll be this week at the NY Auto Show.

We’ll consider my sale lost. I wanted a hybrid Tacoma to get better than 19 MPG….

Those little emoji faces are hilarious LOL! Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of how big the Tundra is, especially how small our garage is it wouldn't fit in there. Which is also why I started looking at the Colorado. It's like two inches more legroom in the rear. I'm 6'1, but have extremely long legs so I have the seat back a bit but that doesn't really matter with only one kid, wife is 5'9 but more proportionate so we might could have some room on the side most babies go anyways. Most family trips would be in the RAV4 though

Agreed, it's volume. Toyota at full capacity can sale close to 300k units annually, the next closes hovers around 100k.

Hell yeah dude I used to be part of the transition from D series to B series to The mighty K series. I already have a plan when the 3gr gives up a k24 turbo will be taking its spot. :)

Toyota likes to fuck around and mess with the jeep day.
