    Hey guys,

I just listed this new product in the shop, Tailgate Storage for the 2005-2024+
    Price: $345

USE COUPON CODE: SPRING15 for 15% off until April 1, 2023

    https://www.bpfabricating.com/colle...ts/bpf-2016-2023-toyota-tacoma-tailgate-panel

Finally a flat tailgate with function. Need some extra storage in a secret protected location? This is a great way to take advantage of that unused space in your tailgate. Great for storing recovery gear, blankets, rain gear, air hoses and almost anything else you would need quick access to. The latches are lock/key to keep your gear safe. Head to the beach and leave your electrical fob under lock and key. Or prep all your food when camping on a nice flat surface.

    Features:
    • laser cut.
    • Made from 1/8th Aluminum.
    • Comes raw ready for paint or install as is. (Pictured tailgate storage was painted with black bed liner paint)
    More Info:
    • Two Black powder coated paddle latches with keys.
    • Sound deadening not included.
When storing items just be aware that they may get wet. So for items that need to stay dry, keep them in a water proof bag.

    Great idea and execution!

I just bought one a second ago and already have some ideas on incorporating it with my BedRug as a means of concealment. Also brainstorming the possibility of utilizing some watertight containers for additional protection of stored items but I'll further that once I receive and mount the item.

    Well done!

BTW....what sort of turnaround time can I expect from order till shipment?

Nice! I added marine grade carpet and glued it in place, for the one I made for my Land cruiser. It worked great and it holding up well! Please let me know what you come up with. I do have in the works some custom made bins, but those are a while off.

I should have it shipped out this week for you. Thanks so much!!!

Does the extra weight put any extra strain on the soft close tailgate thingmabobber. I can't think of the name and I'm too lazy to search it.

After searching, I was able to identify the correct terminology and it comes up as "Soft Close Tail Chingadera". Hopefully that helps OP answer the more technical questions.

Funny to see this thread up with the one in the 3rd gen and everyone crying about how terrible of an idea advance tailgates are.
I actually like cool ideas like this.

    Working on setting it up.

I have noticed it does come down faster since adding heavier items with the sound deadening. Personally I wouldn't add the sound deadening and go with foam.

Isn't there very little space in the tailgate? Got any photos of it open?

Check the install video on the site and you'll see a bit of it. I've had mine open to install the auto lock device and though it not cavernous, there's quite a bit of space with smaller access points.

This is totally off topic, but I've been looking at bedrugs, does the tailgate rug have thicker foams for the grooves in the factory tailgate cover? I can't come up with a consistent conclusion based off websites and pictures.

bedrugs in general are 'molded' to create a flat surface. Mine is partially installed. (been raining in CA too much and I've been putting it off)

Im certain that the full bedrug is the same material as the "tailgate" only mat

I'm excited to see what the custom bins are going to look like, maybe having it come with a sliding cover so that whatever you put in there stays inside.

    Hey Guys,

few more product photos. I experimented with the Velcro and aquarium foam both worked very well with holding everything in place. Definitely just need one or the other.
