I don't do well with child noises, babies on a plane, in a theatre, in public and crying activate my lizard brain. Silence is golden... the first two I really blame the parents for though. It's not so bad when they become regular post toddler kids though, 6 and older and the meltdowns are less spectacular. They've started to understand that life is constant pain and crying doesn't fix it.

    Oh dude me neither!

But damn, when it's your own kid, it's like all you want to do is make sure Everything is well with him, regardless of how exhausted sleepy or hungry you are.

I'm surprised this was the first bath. I guess we are a bit odd but ours get them monthly using Mane 'n Tail, same as I use. They get used to accepting it, though they don't enjoy it. At least this time of year it's inside and not on the patio with the hose.

Took the truck out a bit tonight. While I didn't pick up boost I do think I picked up power with the snorkel/elbow delete. Blowing the 35s off rolling into it is a lot easier. I have parts in the mail and it's taking patience I don't have to not cut weight and shit for the next couple weeks so I can set a baseline for the overlander it was. Smaller pulley is in the mail too so shaving weight and upping power might make it a quick little truck.

    Hey, I totally respect that!

And if I can share something with you; I fucking always hated when people would ask me anything related to having kids...as if I was some heathen for not having any (before I met my wife and decided to have one).

Don't get why people make it their business to push having kids or not.

I'm a heathen who works surrounded by crazed evangelicals (thanks North Idaho), it's nothing I'm not already accustomed to. I'll never understand the drive to have kids, and I honestly don't want to, it's a secret that can remain such as far as I'm concerned. I get to see the children of people who never wanted theirs, can't afford theirs, don't have the time or inclination to see that their children succeed and become decent people. It's a curse of seeing public education, and it often seems like I'm looking at the future problems rather than solutions. It's never the kids fault, it's always the parents and I couldn't ever put for such effort for something I don't think would leave a positive mark for the next generation. It's not something I have in me, no matter how well meaning and good natured my actions and thoughts may be. There are other things I can do for the world, but contributing to the next generation isn't one of them. But there are people out there with the means, intelligence, and human decency to mold their children into conscious, caring, forward thinking, smart people and I'm sure you'll make that happen for your own.

So far he has shown absolutely no love for water so I dunno lol. We've done a lot of walks in the rain these last couple of months and while he will never turn down an opportunity to go for a walk, you can tell he is not thrilled with getting wet. Hard to get him to go in the backyard when it's raining.

Simultaneously why I hate kids but still want to have them

Man, I'm a capital yellow L, but boy do some people make an argument for offspring licenses, or even eugenics.

I already know how you are, and I bet you'd be an awesome dad.

Same qualities though make up for a good friend, son, partner, etc so even if you don't have kids, you're still bringing a lot to the table as a person :fistbump:
