Brave Browser: Reply Box Not Available - Any Site Changes/Updates Today?

Hope this is okay here, I’ve never strayed this far down the forum list before.

Anyway were there any site changes today or am I going crazy? I use Brave browser the reply box has disappeared. Maybe a change Brave is blocking?

Look at the pics my dude. Brave isn’t loading the reply box like it should. Brave hasn’t released an update for a month or so which leads me to believe maybe there was a site update?

 

The fact that it works properly in Chrome and Safari (for me) indicates that it’s an issue with Brave (never heard of it).

Possible they made changes to the TW backend and Brave cannot handle the updates with their older interface. I wouldn’t think Brave is blocking anything, probably just a compatibility issue.

 

Except I have been using brave for the last year without issue. I use brave because it’s one of the better browsers for blocking ads and trackers. Not sure what you mean by “can’t handle the changes with its older interface” it’s just as current/modern as chrome. In fact it’s build on chromium (which chrome also is) it just blocks a bunch of garbage that chrome doesn’t.

That’s why I ask if something changed.

 

I used Brave and it’s working fine for me. Have you tried turning the blocking features off to see if that makes a difference?

Weird. On phone for desktop? I’m on phone. It worked fine yesterday which is why I started the thread since all of a sudden it doesn’t work.

Tried force closing it and restarting but it didn’t help. I’ll try on my laptop and check out the developer tools and why it’s not loading. Can’t imagine it would block the reply box unless it’s got some weird JavaScript in it.

So as of this morning, I can confirm that it no longer works on mobile for me, but the desktop version is fine. There hasn't been an update to the mobile app recently, so I suspect something changed on the Tacomaworld side.

That said, I don't regularly use mobile browsers to access this forum, so it's not a big deal to me, but I can see how this would be a problem if you had a different use preference.

And for those of you who are still using Chrome, you should seriously consider using a non-Google browser (Firefox) or consider switching to a de-Googled Chromium (Brave, others).

 

I agree but omit Brave since it just seems like another shit chromium clone browser that focuses on crypto and this nebulous idea of "ｐｒｉｖａｃｙ" but can't be bothered to keep its codebase current.

 

I think the crypto stuff and the slow update are reasonable criticism of Brave. My opinion is if you ignore the crypto angle, the core browser does a pretty good job of blocking everything that ruins the internet, but there are probably even better alternatives out there. Sometimes this year I might switch back to Firefox or un-Googled Chromium. We'll see.

 

Okay good to know it’s not just me. Of course I only access on mobile so that sucks for me I guess. I TW admins are going to accommodate one user so it’s off to chrome for TW browsing I guess.

I think a lot of people don’t understand brave and just chime in with the crypto stuff (all of the things people complain about can be turned off) I had that turned on for a while I made a few cents but eventually turned it off so I don’t have to deal with any ads anywhere.

I’ve been using for around a year, maybe a little a more and it’s definitely saved me some from some ads/trackers.
