Could be. That's just what they told me and I don't pay any attention to other car makers as I would never buy one. Also I am from P.E.I smallest province and there isn't much competition here. I just saw a GR Corolla here the other day and it was 46,999, last night I was watching a video where a dealer in Cali was asking 92k for the GR Corolla

Tacoma's do not have Lane Departure "with assist", l think only vehicles with electric power steering can do that.

In 2015 Toyota themselves helped create early venom by adamantly denying what was obvious to everyone, which was that Gen3 was actually a heavily revised Gen2 with updated styling & powertrain. Sweers himself infamously insisted that every part was different except a seatbelt bracket. That in part triggered a vocal group of existing owners.

Gen4 is a completely different animal, so I doubt you’ll see that same level of early trolling. Toyota traditionalists will buy up every last Gen3 until changeover, and Gen4 will be an excellent truck for an even broader audience.

I'm the opposite. I have maybe two or three days a year when I need more than two seats, and at least one day a week when I need a six foot bed.

Access cab with a short bed? Interesting.

True. The worst of both worlds. The 6ft. bed would be the only reason to buy an access cab.

Lots of confusion about Canada. Markups are 100% legal in Canada. There is no law against markups. What the law states is that you have to clearly advertise the markup. That's what confuses people. Here is a quote from a dealer in Calgary with a markup.

If you would have said traditionalist and 3rd gen in the same sentence in 2016 you would have had quite the uproar. Oh how things change....

So, why has a double cab long bed not been offered for i4s in the past? Is it low demand? Too much truck for an i4? Clearly other companies have moved away from the dclb option. If it's a power/weight ratio issue, hopefully Toyota keeps the dclb option for an i4 turbo.

We have no specific knowledge, but it is likely just a batch build kind of thing that Toyota does. Pros, Limiteds, DCLBs, MTs, and limited colors get made in batches. While it hurts buyers looking for a particular option, Toyota just does their thing.

It even came a surprise to me that MTs only come with 4WD. But then, 2WD ORs get an anytime locker. Or, the 3rd Gen had like five different tail light designs. Crazy stuff where Toyota puts their budgets.

So you're saying a 2wd MT Lime Rush DCLB is too much to ask? :D

I'm not actually sure it is and it is just appearing that way through a forced perspective. I could be wrong though and it could be the DCSB as mentioned already. I do believe they are going to those type doors on the 4th gen vs. clamshell like current AC doors.

I'm probably in the minority, but how many of you also have no interest in a hybrid version of the Tacoma (or anything else for that matter)?

While I'd definitely like more horsepower, or at least significantly better acceleration, I'd rather get that without needing costly hybrid batteries (and associated mechanical/drive train parts) increasing not only the initial cost of the vehicle but also the longer term repair/maintenance costs, not to mention the space they waste.

According to this: https://repairpal.com/estimator/toy... cost for a,priced between $6,198 and $6,198.
(assuming the Highlander is a good proxy), once the hybrid battery is out of warranty, out of pocket replacement costs for the hybrid battery is about $6500, and it's not something you can do yourself. I'd rather just plan to buy an $80 lead-acid battery every 3-5 years, which I can easily replace myself.

Can't use lead acid in place of the hybrid batteries.

Ah! The Seahawks have a Lime Rush uni. Not my fav.

You know it. There's a lot of commonsense options that Toyota should be able to pull off. Just a factory tow package with the 2TR ACLB MT would have had me in one.
