If I were married and had lots of money, I’d have 2 houses.
One the wife. One for me.

I don't think they even build houses without walk-in closets in the master suite anymore; I've seen new construction online in Arizona and Texas neighborhoods that didn't have master walk-in closets in the smallest 1-story plans, and I believe new condos in California that lacked them, but every house my parents have owned since 1990 (the oldest was built in 1989) has had at least one walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The one in Virginia that was built in 1989 had two walk-in closets in the master suite. My cousin's duplex house, which was built in 2018 and is only marginally larger than this place, has a walk-in closet!

This plan is available with one of two kitchen layouts, and I like this one better because it has the sink at a window rather than that cramped snack bar with the overhead cabinets; I am not a huge fan of upper cabinets that aren't against the wall for some reason...

Also, remember; I'm going to Hilton Head Island for a family reunion all next week, and I'm gonna say goodbye to Amanda this evening after work since our schedules don't line up the rest of the week...

You mean a soaking tub in the master bath? This plan has that, along with a separate shower and dual sinks, but for some stupid reason it DOES NOT have walk-in closets. When I buy my first house (or condo), walk-in closets are not at the top of my list. I want it to have central air, at least two bathrooms, and a kitchen with a dishwasher for starters; I would prefer to have gas heat, but a heat pump is also fine.

    Mehhh.
I don’t want anything with with a pump.
A large tube is fine, but I don’t want any pumps or tubes.
    They all tear up eventually.
Been there, helped, don’t want to to do it again.

My dad and I were discussing this yesterday, and apparently oil heat puts out more BTUs than propane heat. Natural gas is cheaper and more efficient than both propane and oil. Back in 2015 when my parents were looking at new houses, there was this one brand new neighborhood that they really liked, but it was far enough away from the necessary infrastructure that it had onsite propane instead of public natural gas. Dual-zone A/C was also an extra-cost option for some stupid reason, and I told my parents that it would be a downgrade to sell the townhouse we were in (which had separate central HVAC systems for the 1st and 2nd floors) and move into a house with only one system...

Actually, told them is being nice; I threw a fit at the prospect of having to freeze out the downstairs to keep myself comfortable at night!

My parents decided not to buy there because my dad didn't want propane heat.

I don't need two whole houses, but if we move in together and a certain someone doesn't address her snoring problem, we will have to sleep in separate bedrooms!

    :annoyed:

Apparently I snore too, but Amanda can sleep through damn near anything while I cannot, and I've never shared a bedroom with somebody who snores like Amanda does!

Does your place have walk-in closets in the master bedroom?

Did you actually get diagnosed with sleep apnea?

What year was your house built? It's in the middle of nowhere rather than in a neighborhood, right?

The other day (I believe it was last week), I was talking about a 1,360 square foot cabin (clearly meant to be a vacation home) that I initially thought did not have a laundry room; I looked a little bit closer and determined that it did in fact have a small laundry closet with space for a stacked washer and dryer. This house, however, does not seem to have one...
