My Satoshi Grill write-up

I just registered to this site and so far i love it. Ive never seen anyone put lights behind a satoshi grill before... Lookin good!!!

Seems like a lot of work for a bar-b-q. Better than the old hibachi?

 

i've been looking for a thread on how to do the satoshi in the bumper...is there one on here?

 

Pretty much you take off the bumper and repeat the same steps for the grille.

more fiber glass... i've never worked with the stuff before, i think it'll be a fun project

based on your write-up i started mine early this morning. to kill time waiting for the resin to dry, i'm reviewing your write-up just to make sure i'm doing everything okay.

 

oh one question, where did you re-mount your stock horns to?

 

If you look on either side of your engine bay there are 2 bolt holes (on both sides) bear the top. The one on the right is directly behind the fuse box. The bolts that currently hold the horns in place fit perfectly in those bolt holes.

 

I started mine also just thought i would share my horn mounting location.
Factory:

Uninstalled, had to extend the factory wires (Easy):

Small bend in mounting tab:

Used this (silver) radiator mounting bolt (the one half unscrewed):

Attached and wired hidden and protected from the heat of the radiator:

With half finished grill installed:


I put them there so they would still be in the front yet hidden behind grill.

hey guys im about to start mine tomorrow, im going to cut out plastic pieces, from the center part thats cut out, to fill the holes instead of fiberglass. everyone super glues it and then bondos it but i was just wondering...do i super glue and then sand and then bondo and sand again? or lay down the super glue and bondo and then sand all at the end? thanks fellas!

 

I used epoxy...But heres what to do.

Make your patch panels and epoxy/glue them in place. When you apply the epoxy/glue, apply it to the edges and backside of the patch panels. Once dry, sand down any excess from the inner lip. Then apply bondo and continue with the MOD.
