There are definitely some fab guys down there that are active on here, make a post in the San Diego regional thread and I bet you'll get linked up with them.

I can vouch for both @GHOST SHIP and @Shmellmopwho 's awesome fabrication work if you want to venture up to LA county but there are some good guys in your neck of the woods for sure

He’s at SD. I wouldn’t drive over there unless it’s 100% guaranteed he’ll be getting his money back with some gas money for sure.

Imagine you drive over there to find a closed shop, then what?

why do you ask? I had a Carbon Fiber company back in the day-07/08- Fabricating CF parts for my X runner and 06 CBR600s. YotaFAB was my forum name on Xr underground.

Ghost ship gave me a good idea, going to see if I can use a hijack to space it out to align bolt holes. regardless, I was sold a product that isn't right and this is my warning to all. Don't use Drewsfab if you can't go to his shop easily. I have now heard of a few people with the same issue of not getting their parts from Drewfab.

My .02:If you used a credit card, you have protection. I would report it to them and let them take care of it.

You should not be on the hook for return shipping out of pocket, the vendor covers this if they accept cc payments.

Was just a simple question, no need to go on the defensive.

The thread was directed to the topic of fabricators, and seeing FAB in your name drummed up some curiousity.

If you end up keeping it any decent fabricator should be able to cut some new plates, weld them to the back and drill some new holes.

OP suggested that as an option for himself.

I advise against it because the tube has already been welded on. Introducing more heat would cause the metal outside the weld to quickly become brittle and lead to premature failure on a light bump/hit.
