Ergo 10k winch, Rigid D2 driving cubes. Winch control wired into the cab along with light switches in the overhead. I can still reach in and unplug the interior controls and plug in the wired remote if I need to operate outside.

Sand blasted it as soon as it came in and had it professionally lineXed along with the sliders. That shit is amazing how tough it is.

Mine just arrived this morning. Took the day and got it installed with a Warn VR8S. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Got the US Offroad bumper installed on Tuesday with a Warn VR8-S on my '14 DC.

I have a VR8 in my 4Runner and I am really impressed with it, especially considering the cost, so I went with another one for the Tacoma.

I really dig the US Offroad bumper. Very fast shipping considering that they had to send it to powdercoating; I had it in about a week. The bumper was super well packed for shipping. The welds and powdercoating look top notch. Everything about it feels tough and beefy. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Only a couple little niggles on the instructions. They call for a 19mm socket on the lower subframe bolts but it's actually a 17mm socket; the grille removal instructions were overly complicated (should have read: "pull real fucking hard"); the number and locations of the bolts under the fender and under the "air dam" of the bumper differed on my truck from the pictures shown on the instructions. I think that was all I caught as I was installing.

Took about 3 hours to install, super straightforward, no issues or surprises except the very minor notes above. Hardest part, honestly, is getting the bumper fascia off and on. Everything else is self-explanatory, even the cutting of the lower bumper is pretty much common sense.

I got to buy a new tool, too, because (and it pains me to say this as a man) I did not have an angle grinder / cutoff wheel (to cut off the driver's side tie down loop).

Couple notes on the install that might make it easier for someone else or answer some questions someone might have: The winch mounted without having to relocate the control box. I did have to notch the radiator support just a tad to clear the very top back corner of the control box, but that was it. I removed my front plate and plugged the holes with variable depth automotive fasteners. I had to buy longer fairlead bolts since the steel on the bumper is so thick (not a bad thing) - 1 1/2" long bolts are a perfect fit to just poke out beyond the nuts. I opted to run a longer bolt on the + battery terminal and use a thumb nut to attach the winch power cable so that I could leave it disconnected when not in use but install it quickly as needed. If you do this buy extra thumb nuts and zip them to the battery hold-down because they like to slip out of your fingers. I removed the bolted on recovery loop on the passenger side frame because it would be redundant with the recovery loops on the bumper, but the bumper will fit with it still installed. I used blue loctite on everything. After install I left the bumper skin off, zip tied the fender liners up, and took a 10 mile drive on some bumpy ass roads to try and flex the unit and strain the nuts and bolts; when I got back I checked torque and had to tighten a few slightly. I then reinstalled the cover. I may take some rubber door edge molding and install it on the top of the area where the fascia cover used to go, where there are exposed mounting slots.

 

Looks good, I have the identical set-up installed August 2018 (VR-8 S). Very impressed with the whole set-up, bumper and winch.
Edit: I was able to use the TRD "Skid Plate" with the bumper, primarily to keep salt spray from bathing the winch through the vent holes in the bumper.

OP was looking for experience with this style winch mount...seems relevant to me.

 

Their shipping packaging was on the ball. Talk about maybe overkill.

As far as tools for the tie loop go, well...it helps to have friends with better tools.

 

Also, I can vouch for the US Offroad one. Does damn well at pulling out race trucks from sand dunes.

 

This was from a t-bone impact that totaled a Jeep Liberty (pulled out in front of me from a side road). Tacoma was Drivable and fully repaired no problem. Headlights were wonky.
I did get a new US Off-road bumper out of it.

 

If anyone is looking for a US Offroad winch bumper, I have one for sale. The bumper is awesome. I found a low cost, used pelfreybilt built I could not pass on.

I'm a little late to the game, but was wondering if anyone with the US Offroad Tacoma 2012-15 Winch Bumper can measure how far the shackle mounts stick out from the front of the bumper? Thanks for the help.
