Thinking of trading 2.7 for a V6

    I mean when you buy a truck with a 3500# towing cap, I guess it's ok to think that. But if 4 cylinder guys are going to run wild with their "massive" payload advantage of as little as 100# on a comparably equipped V6 model, I'm going to definitely talk smack about my 2900# towing advantage. Only seems fair.

    2WD AC V6's enjoy a 3300# advantage, but I guess we aren't allowed to talk about that.

    I'm in a similar situation as you. I bought my '22 2.7 4x4 AC last Fall when inventory was just beginning to recover. It's a great truck but the 2.7 struggles on highways and in the mountains. It's surprisingly capable for what it is, but I want more power. I placed a deposit for an identical truck with a V6 in February. It's due to arrive next week.

    Supercharging the 2.7 might actually be economical compared to the loss you’ll take by changing trucks.

    Problem is, that 2.7 truck isn't worth anymore then a standard 2.7 when its time to sell it, plus you can compromise that 2.7's reliability.
