Wait on a Gen 4 until they can prove that they can reach the 100k mile club at the least.

Damn! That's 3/4-1 ton diesel territory there at 78k.

52k. Local dealership has another one for 53k. Same color. 9E58C5FF-3906-4CE7-8C19-27B81D6E23A6.jpg762B5A9F-E381-4F30-9D29-0C36E00B70DD.jpg

And i thought seeing 6k for a dealer installed 2 inch spacer lift was crazy.

    I sh*t bricks when I paid $34k for my 2021 Access Cab ( V6 4WD )...
Couldn't believe I had done such a stupid thing - then prices went up, up, up.
I'll pay it off this year as I dropped a ton of cash down on it - and it will outlive me.

If I remember correctly I wanna say it was somewhere it Colorado. For 6k you can run Kings and basically have wheels/tires. It’s crazy that anybody actually pays that much for dealership lifts

I wouldn't pay 53k for tacoma; even if it has pro stamped all over it. :crapstorm:

Agree! Got my basic Betty for 39k and there’s not a damn thing a Pro can do that I can’t, plus I can drive mine like I only spent 39 on it. :burnrubber:

Not me, I paid $35K for my 2018 Sport, loaded except the crappy leather and hell to the No on the sunroof. Now four years and 26k miles my Tacoma looks like new, runs amazing thanks to my KDMAX Pro tune and is better today than the day I bought it in every way. Plus its paid for and one day someone is going to want to buy it. Kind of like my Mint 99 4Runner, everywhere we go someone is always trying to buy it and I have been offered up to $14k, no way I'm selling. My truck looks better than any stock Pro to this day and I love the look of the Pro just not the price tag.

I was going to wait to get a Taco until next year but opted for this year because of the change coming. Toyota has a really good reputation of NOT rushing in to the latest "fads" so they can ensure things are reliable, but I've had really bad luck with "first year" vehicles. Honda Civic Si with 1.5L turbo - OIL DILUTION from day one (you know, where you check your oil each weekend and the level rises because gas is getting in there at a stupid rate?)..... Mazda CX-30 Turbo burned oil like crazy starting at around 6,000 miles (class problem).....

I have every hope that Toyota has done their homework and the 4th gen will be GREAT and reliable for the folks who buy them, but I'm not taking that risk. I'm still waiting in the wings to watch the 2.7L turbos start exploding in GM trucks. Given their recently history with collapsing lifters in the 5.3s, etc.....

I wouldn’t be opposed to buying a first year model but I’d rather not spend more time than necessary at the dealership or not have the truck at all. I’m sure it’ll be fine in a year or two but I personally don’t want to deal with turbos at all. The main thing stopping me from a 4th gen is probably the cost. Wouldn’t be surprised to see TRD trims start at 44k or so. Unfortunately Tacoma’s seem to be headed towards 50k with Taxes/Titles/Fees

Yes. When I was looking at Tacomas in late-2021/early-2022, a dealer near me (near downtown Chicago if I recall) had a 2021 TRD Pro in Super White listed for $79,999. I called because I assumed it was a typo. It was not a typo.

As they say, "there's a sucker born every day." I was at the stealership getting a service, and saw a new 4Runner that had just sold out back. $55K MSRP plus a $15K "market adjustment," and somebody bought it. As long as folks are willing to open their wallets, this price insanity is going to continue. I'd just like to know how everybody but me got a money tree planted in their yard.

I am guessing they have a lot more debt than yourself. I have had a car payment for at least 10. I bought my 18 pro a few months ago cash it is a completely different feeling. I am at the point where my house is my only payment and I am gonna keep it that way as long as I can.

:spy: does that mean that us turd owners will be the new second gen owners and get to rag on fourth gen!?

Nah, turd will always have a special place in my heart. Second gen chassis with a shoehorned V6 engine with a badly programmed transmission. Fourth gen is doing its own thing at least.

    The turd carries on!
