SeaFoam Questions

Hey guys and girls,

I have read many threads of success stories of Seafoam on here and I might give it a try. However I have a couple of question on seafoam. I have heard that you put 1/3 in your fuel tank 1/3 in your oil filler and 1/3 in your brake line booster.

Can someone take a picture of the brake line booster for me? Is there a write up on how to do it?

Would it be alright for my engine if I just went and put 1/2 in the fuel tank and 1/2 in the brake line booster. I don't really want to ruin my oil right now.

How long do you have to rev or idle you engine before the grey cloud of smoke goes away?

I personally wouldn't do it but its your truck!

and half in the intake and half in the gas seems pretty popular.

I know I researched adding it to the oil, and it's really something you'd only add within 500 miles of an oil change. I recently ran some in a motorcycle that'd been parked for years and it really ran better after a few tankfuls. I do recommend the vacuum or intake as that cleans air circuits that might've been affected by latent gasoline sitting there. I would NOT recommend the brake system at all as there are boiling point and other factors that that product is not designed to address. Plus brake systems don't have enough agitation to benefit from it.

Just to clarify... How does the sea foam clean the brake components? I just had my brakes flushed so I don't think need to do the brakes. To clean the engine components properly should I can just put it into the fuel tank and it will clean the engine. Thanks for the input.

 

So this means that it cleans the engine better than conventional STP engine cleaner? Thanks for the answers.

 

Do you think I would get good results if I just ran 1/2 a bottle of seafoam in a full gas tank? Thanks for explaining all of this stuff to me.

 

Did you get much smoke out of the exhaust? I looked at some videos on Youtube and they had massive amount of clouds of exhaust.

 

really any intake line will do the trick, back in the 80s when carbon build up was a real problem my shop teacher used to put a quart of transmission fluid b/c of its ability to be a great detergent through his intake and would smoke everyone out, anyways i seafoamed my truck and it runs fine.

 

I put a can in the tank every 5k just to keep things clean and not have to pour it into the intake.
