Sounds very similar to the rural county in northern CA that we moved from last summer. For decades it had been a very conservative, rural, "small town" county. Then about 15 years ago, all the SF Bay area weekend ski trippers passing through on their way to Lake Tahoe started realizing our cost of living was waaaaaay lower than the Bay area, so they started buying up property left, right and center. Then they got elected to the County Board Of Stupidvisors. Then they started ramping up construction of new housing developments, strip malls all over.... because when you come from a city with every possible convenience within 1/4 mile of your house, how could you possibly survive in "Mayberry"?? Answer: bring the City with you, of course! Just one of the many reasons we traded CA for KY.

Planning commission title is kinda of joke. They rezoned the property from agricultural to residential. They did so with the bare minimum public notice, which is legal. Developer only wants to purchase 2/3 of the parcel. Land owner wants to keep 1/3 of the parcel. Says he has no plans to develop for now. Everyone knows that he’s waiting for the land value to go up. Planning commission is not requiring developer to make the design for future expansion, which everyone knows is going to happen. All of this is taking place on a lake our neighborhood has access to. Our concern is overuse of county roads, lake, water table.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

    Sun is shining
At work later today we are having Security Awareness Training, means your on you own in case of a active shooter.

When we got our washer 15 years ago we debated about getting new dryer. Decided to run it till it dies. It's still running.:fingerscrossed:

It is one f*^%% up country that has to have active shooter training in schools, work places, and places of worship. I shouldn’t have to carry and a Kevlar vest to feel somewhat safe to go to the grocery store.

I see it on the news all the time about something happening in Mexico or some other foreign location. I would actually like to see the numbers and a honest comparison of what happened in Atlanta or Chicago in the same time period.

Can’t like your post, be careful. I saw water in our neighborhood yesterday that I have never seen in 27 years. Don’t know what happened before we moved in. Need to finish building my ARK, now where did I put my hammer.

I'm safe enough in town. They're just worried that the rivers are going to come up fast. And possible ice jams at bridges and stuff.

    Good morning crew.

I'm guessing it wasn't as simple as an unbalanced load? Mine will wobble itself into a shut down mode if I put too many clothes into it. ( you know, like a normal sized load for the top load machines that we all grew up with)

I saw an increase in my mortgage payment last year, then a letter explained that I had an escrow shortage because of increase in property tax. I then got something from the county explaining how my property value went up 100K... Find me the sucker that will pay me that much $$ and I will sell it to them. Thank goodness I signed up for the homestead act that caps property tax increases to 3% annually, but it still keeps going up.

And we as a nation have a lot of idiots who go out in the wilderness to recreate without first checking weather conditions and warnings
