@Speedytech7 Mercedes had some wild colors in the 80s. It was great

Looked at every go-kart caliper I could find online and didn't find a single one that I liked that wouldn't rattle. Might chuck this tcase brake in the trash and design my own with an automotive style caliper. I think ballistic discontinued it because it was such junk lol

    Another crazy Mercedes.
There's an old video of Chris Harris on the Drive where he got to get behind the wheel of one.

The euro headlights are a shame though, they look better with the roundies. I love that my Moms 560SL has the roundies. Speaking of which that will probably go on BaT this spring, 89 560SL in white (with original hard top included) with 56k miles if you know anyone interested.

Can you use a big spring to keep tension so it just doesn't rattle?

It just isn't being driven anymore. She doesn't commute anymore and her bridge games are close to home now. She just takes her CR-V everywhere now. It's an excellent driving car though and it all works, even the AC. We have records from 89-2021 of it going to Mercedes for everything.

Wow. I wish I was in the market for one! That'll be great at auction though. It looks like it's in great condition, let alone that mileage

I guess I'm back to just being a repair guy now lol 20230406_121912.jpg

Same guy from yesterday dropped this pile off.. didn't wanna believe me that I'd have to essentially tear it down to the frame to access the hoses

I got serious about buying one back in the 80s. I can't remember the model. Maybe it was a 380. I am just too tall to drive one My knees were hitting the steering wheel.

Great question, there is a spring that keeps tension on the lever to engage the pad slightly and help with rattle. The issue is that the caliper is has a groove(?) basically held in on a tab and slides across the tab (shown on the left). Is creates a lot of chatter as it bounces around

I'm glad you asked, it's making me think it might be possible to make the caliper slide on pins so it's more stable and less prone to rattling
