My mortgage sitting at 2.625% has 28 or so years until maturity. No reason to pay that down early, guess who's got a payment for another 28 years

From what I've heard so far, the new Tundra engine has been performing well. I've have not really heard of anything drastically bad from new Tundra owners regarding engine performance. I personally have high hopes on the new Tacoma engine, so you should be in good hands if you ever decide. It all boils down to the pricing and how much initial option you want on the truck. FWIW, the Tacoma will remain a money pit and still tons of opportunities to mod the new 2024 Taco. On my end, I have a 2021 OR and I intend to put a lot more fun miles in the truck and drive it for years to come. It is not financially sound for me to trade in my Taco after adding a lot of mods over the course of 2 years. Whavever you decide, I hope it is still a Taco.

It's a tax write-off, at least it is for me.

Every time there is a pro posted, the peasants come with the pitchforks to tell you how superior their cheaper trims at everything and can be customized to be soooo much better than a pro for 1/100th of the cost

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Why does it have 300 miles?

Went to the mall last night and talked to a guy in the parking lot with a 2013 SR5 PreRunner which I never heard of. Damn it looked pretty clean. He said he doesn't drive that much since his job provides him with a truck he drive from site to site and his wife has an Toyota SUV. Anyway he said it has been trouble free the whole time and ONLY (are you kidding me) has 160K miles - oh, like he said he doesn't drive it much. The other thing he said is that he never takes it off road. Yeah . . . I am glad I got in at the end of the Gen 3 run - so in about 10 years the Gen 4 Tacos will have all the bugs worked out - sounds about right.

Well actually the PRO can do one thing Betty can't. That's retain initial investment.

I’m not gonna tell her you said that. That’s just too far. Betty and I can dish it out but taking it is a skill we are both working on… in time and with a few more sessions.

I wasn't planning on buying the pro but I found a good price and it seemed to be cheaper than any sport or off road with the same kms.

Nuckin Futs…. A loaded 2023 GX460 Luxury can be had for mid 60’s and will run circles around a 4R in every measurable way (excluding mpg lol). Some people’s kids…

I love all this. I’m just responding away because it stops my coworkers from talking to me because they think I’m busy and I have a furrowed brow while looking at my screen.

I thought the very same thing.

You could also buy a F-150 Tremor V8 or tt6 for the asking price or less. What else? Tundra Pro - a mark up, Ram Power Wagon a nicely equipped Super Duty crew cab, a Corolla GR. If you got $75k or more to throw at a Tacoma chances are you are not going to be driving it for ever, and can afford to get out of one of those vehicles and in to another.
