Plenty of us are holding out on registration until we see what happens in the courts. I'll be shocked if that rule doesn't get an injunction slapped on it.

 

I'll be slapping a stock on mine. Just gotta get it thrown together and I'll file for the form 4.

 

You wanna file a form 1 - Application to make and register a firearm. Form 4 is application for tax paid transfer and registration which is for purchasing suppressors, factory SBRs, and transferrable machine guns.

Has anybody had issues with the atf site not taking payment? I tried completing my form 1 today, but kept getting error messages when I went to pay

 

There are ALOT of issues with the eforms site. Usually the best solution is log out, log back in, and try again. (I know that isn’t super helpful but is the reality of dealing with the ATFs software that utilizes the latest 1996 technology)

 

I tried that a few times. I'll try again today. Rather not be a felon. Even though the gun isn't built yet.

 

yeah the best you can do is keep at it. I just submitted my form 4 yesterday for my new suppressor. It took almost 2 weeks of my shop trying to get eforms and silencer shops software to cooperate and finally go through.

 

Just filed a paid Form 1 on Tuesday and it went through fine.

 

Weird, I'll try again tonight. I'd like to get it in Asap so I can hurry up and wait.

 

I wouldn’t stress it too much. Amnesty registrations just have to be submitted within 120 days, not processed.

I’m waiting another month to see if there’s any movement in the courts before I do anything.

Kidwidataco is paying for his stamp which means not an amnesty stamp. But like you, I'm telling everyone who's freaking out about the brace rule to just wait and see.

But yeah if I amnesty register (hope it doesn’t come to that) it’s not gonna be till like May 25th.

 

I know a few guy who have already filed for their amnesty stamps. I have a feeling that if it gets struck down in court, everyone who has an amnesty stamp will end up having to pay the $200 or have it invalidated.

 

Yeah I feel ya. There are just too many unknowns. If nothing happens in the next 2 months I might even just pull my brace and give it to a friend for safekeeping while I wait it out since possession of a brace remains 100% legal and I have a hard time not seeing this getting thrown out eventually. The courts are just slow.

I can always pay to SBR it later if I want and then I at least get a tax stamp instead of a conditional amnesty approval (whatever that may or not mean in the end).

Although if the Washington AWB passes I’ll have a lot less motivation to keep mine setup as pistols. I’m mostly avoiding SBRing because I live in Portland but work in Vancouver so I frequently go to the the range in WA after work and don’t wanna deal with the extra paperwork crossing state lines.

 

Got it paid for, sending finger prints tomorrow.
Just waiting for my trigger and I can throw it together, minus the stock, and vertical fore grip.
