Well, it looks like the June pipeline trip is on hiatus. I'm debating whether to go somewhere different altogether, or just stay off the main trail. Unfortunately, I need to pretend I'm working for at least a few more hours so I'll have to get back to this later.

That's a great place to mount it. I put it up high mainly because I use that cubby.

I vote to keep the trip and just stay off the main trail. We ran some good trails up there last time and I do kinda enjoy the camping as well.

Or another thought. Maybe that would be a good weekend to explore the UP.

Looks like my Gaia app is already showing the trail closure.

Well, the good thing is we're all getting together next weekend, and we'll have an opportunity to discuss options face to face. The possibility of going to the UP did cross my mind, but it'll be tough to narrow down to a two or three day trip. But, I'm definitely open to that option!

Well, I understand there are quite a few trails just north of the border. You only need the longer trip if you plan to go all the way to copper harbor.

Maybe we should ask around in the Michigan sub form if there are any good spots to play just over the border.

True. The border isn't really that far. I'll bet @LarryDangerfield could recommend some areas.

The plane crash trail could be an option. :notsure:

OTOH, I think part of the purpose of driving into the UP is to get to Lake Superior.

I definitely could recommend some areas, and no! The UP has lots to offer besides superior (admittedly it is the main attraction though.) When is the trip planned again?

Okay, so this screenshot I'm going to post and then the pictures after it is one of my favorite places in the UP. The entire area that is framed by highways making a rectangle around the pin is all fantastic gravel roads. There's so much to see, like waterfalls, big open sandy spots. It's wonderful.

I forgot to mention it's not just gravel roads, there are some more technical and narrow trails to be had as well

That snow will be gone soon. Just give it 6 weeks or so!
