@4WDTrout yes, you can just do the speakers! But being honest, if you use iTunes or bluetooth, it sure is nice to pair your phone to your Taco's radio and go with your playlists, and in all seriousness, its SUPER easy to change the head unit and speakers and leave the tweeters for later if you want. Crutchfield has the wiring harness adapters that are plug and play and head units and speakers and tweeters and so on and so on!

I like the OEM look though. I may just go the JL Cleansweep route and upgrade the speakers only. I’m still reading how to improve the sound with retaining that clean OEM look. I would like to stream music from my iPhone though…still looking into a method that will provide good sound quality.

Also, my Volume Knob on my OEM Unit is not functioning correctly at times. When I try to increase the volume it decreases it few numbers sometimes. Anyone know how to remedy that?

Just drove mine to and from the gym and just thinking how I dislike the Eibach suspension. Going to ride on these til the end of the year and order some Fox suspension.

I'm a huge music lover so my new to me 2011 Tacoma immediately got upgraded for audio. I've reduced the cabin noise by about 15-20db, I went from listening to the radio at 20 to hearing it crystal clear at 8.

If you want to greatly improve sound you need to add vibration dampening and sound absorbing Closed Cell Foam to the doors, take off the weird plastic wrap they put on the doors and fill the interior of the door with Closed Cell Foam (CCF for short) and make sure the window has clearance. Once the inside of the metal door is filled then you make a CCF and Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) sandwich. Make a template for the doors using cardboard and then glue the MLV onto to the CCF and cut it to fit the template. Attach those pieces to the doors. And make sure to cut holes for screw holes and the wiring. Don't put the CCF/MLV near the door handles because it's a pain in the ass to get it to fit right.

Remove the headliner and add more CCF where you can.

Remove your front seats and pop up the carpet, you'll want to spray the bare floor with rubber bed liner, once that cures put closed cell foam on top. Cover as close to the firewall under the dash as you can, it makes a huge difference.

Ugh I wish, if you want I can take off the door panels and show my setup? I should've chronicled it which is why I'm making sure to chronicle my DIY wheel well liners.

They fit great, no issues so far. They were a super easy install too, i think it took me like 18 minutes total for both. They're snug in the frame but they aren't overly tight or anything. I enjoy them a lot

I bought a FourWheelCamper and the cap was kind of a PITA to take off and put on every time I wanted to use the camper. I like the versatility and how easy the softopper is to take off but I do miss the extra security of the fiberglass cap at times.
