Could we all meet at that grocery store?
You know, the one one with the Remingtons on the rack above the Buffalo Trace?
It’s so convenient to pick up ammo and whiskey on one stop after all

Sweet! Let us know what your ETA is.

    That sounds kinda awesome!

Does Meatski's have a location down there? Then again, I could definitely see there being a similar establishment in an old river town like Prairie Du Chein.

Not sure if anyone saw it in the other thread or on Facebook, but the Pipeline has been closed for a year due to soil erosion exposing the pipeline. It sounds like the June trip is going to be a little different this year. Still trying to decide what to do, pick a different location, take a different route, etc.

Can we reach out to one or more of the snowmobile clubs and see if we can get through the gates> There are amazing routes up near Minocqua, Bayfield all over this state that are gated off because of the lobbying and money behind the snowmobile clubs. Lets see if we can share? What about north of Mountain? Amazing places to see and explore up that way as well. If we get organized and work I don't see why we cannot get access to some of these places... or even the Pipeline Trail again.

At this point, the closure is only temporary. I did email Veronica Hinke from the USDA about it, and mentioned the people in my group would be willing to volunteer our time if it could help with the solution. She said that she might reach out once they get the situation figured out.

But, there are still tons of side trails up there that are still open. The only thing that's really closed is the main drag, ie Forest road 55552.

I'd be interested in checking out some new places. I'd even consider moving the June trip to a different area. How is Bayfield in June?

As far as trying to get in on some snowmobile trails, I be interested to see what the routes look like. I would assume that snowmobile trails would be pretty well groomed though.

An option that had gotten a little discussion is the 7 Hour Plane Crash. Looks like it could be done in a weekend? Just a thought...

I also think there are options in the Lakewood sector of the Nicolet.

A 3 day weekend would work. Driving highways, it’s under 7 hrs to Copper Harbor from Madison. Drive up Friday, play all day Saturday, drive home hung over on Sunday.

I think it's funny, someone mention's the U.P. and everybody immediately thinks copper harbor.
There is so much to see all over the state that is much closer to the state line making it an adventure without getting a flat but.

    But to each his own.

    It was on a map.

It’s a very small, chill town, surrounded by cool vistas and some pretty rough roads.

We didn’t explore a ton, it was a short trip, but we decided it was high on the list for a return trip.

We did a mine tour, that was fun.

Look at Menominee Co., Delta Co., Iron Co., just to start.

It's kind of frustrating because I grew up there but have lived down here for like 35yrs so I don't know if things I experienced growing up are still viable.

Well, I am in the UP all the time so go ahead and list the things that you remember and I will comment on them if I recognize them and have gone there in the past 5 years.

Just spit balling off the top of my head for my area Peshtigo fire museum, Stephenson island lumber museum, in Escanaba there's a shipping/Great lakes museum.

The Peshtigo fire was the same day as the Chicago fire.

If you run M35 north out Menominee it follows the lake front all the way to Escanaba with mutiple camping spots along the way including wells state park. North of Escanaba I believe it's US2 that continues up the lake front to Manistique and the bridge.
