    Check out '45 Degree Miter sleds for table saws' on the tubes. I like the design below if you intend on strictly making 45* cuts however there are other designs that use a protractor and some knobs to set and hold your angle for repeatable cuts. You'll need to make sure your table saw is square and true. Your blade needs to be parallel to your miter track and your fence needs to be parallel to your blade & miter track. Some table saws are easier to adjust than others and they'll need to be re-tuned occasionally to ensure that you are still cutting true. I don't have a 45* sled yet but I do have a table saw sled. If you want to purchase instead of make, check out the sled from Rockler, this or this.

    My humble opinion ... dark frames can help with mirrors to keep your focus on the big "window". Dark frames for pictures I think depends on the dark/light of the picture. Look at "Fractures" (frameless printed-on-glass) for how they value the picture over the framing.
