I’ll be the negative Nancy: June in the UP could be black fly season (or not). Could also be quite muddy, and while green leaves are pretty, it’s no comparison to fall colors. All that said I love the UP so I can’t say there is ever a bad time to visit. Plus they have pasties.

I was briefly in that area last fall. Wish I could have stayed longer, some very remote and wild spots. I wouldn’t doubt there is much to see there. Large sections of the North Country Trail run east/west through there iirc.

The UP has at least 175 documented waterfalls and likely many more. As many or more in the UP than the entire state of Wisconsin which is impressive comparing land size. Many are larger than those in Wisconsin, too.

I'm going to post more places and pictures in the UP conversation that I created while getting the summer wheels and tires mounted. If anybody wants to be added to the conversation that hasn't been already let me know.

It's too bad this site strips the gps data out of the photos. That could be very handy for trip planning.

Yes and no. I don't have coordinates because I never found the place I was looking for. But these arrow marks should give a good approximation. Honestly just looking at the map any of those dark green shaded forest areas are good places to explore that you could spend the rest of your life searching and still not see everything. Wish I had more specifics but I was just driving and exploring, no recorded tracks to reference back to on this trip.

Also go to Mount Arvon, lots of gravel roads to get lost on there. Highest point in Michigan. Waterfalls along the way. I feel like I've said this before so forgive me, I'm a repeating broken record more often than not.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Sure, very interested. Won't be long and I'll have all of the time in the world.

Had to actually dig my trailer free. Bike season starts soon and need to get the bearings greased and brakes checked over...
