IMHO...Do it. I just took delivery of mine last Thursday (3/24). I had it trucked in from Las Vegas so I can properly do the 1,000 mile break in.

There it is at the dealer waiting for the transport truck and the second picture is in my garage. I went with the long bed premium with advanced tech package. The bed cover is a Solid Fold ALX by Extang, and I'm putting on Armordillo USA FX running boards this weekend. Yes, it'll get washed too. I waited 17 months for this truck. Dark blue metallic is my color on vehicles. My wife has a red lexus 2015 nx300h. She like the red. I'm not a red vehicle person.

So this blue appears differently in different lights. Day light its a stunning blue. Evening/dusk it can have a slight purple cast to it. It's pretty cool. I came from a Dark Nautical Blue on my 08' sequoia.

Thank you for your feedback! You got a beautiful truck there! I am a long bed guy and the hood scoop on your sport looks awesome! My truck will be an offroad long bed with the premium audio/navigation and the tech package. I will likely upgrade to the OEM pro headlights as part of the first mod, love how they look on your truck. Look forward to officially joining the BC team!

Haven't been on the forum in a bit but came to post about my Diamondback cover...I see you are looking at BCM....I do have to say its a great color, seems to be easy to keep clean and no one really has it still...I bought my truck a year ago and I've yet to see another one this color in the new models on the road.

Here is mine after I finally got the Diamondback installed: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diamondback-covers-modifications.553966/page-92#post-27667835

Congrats on your truck! You will love it

Ok...ready to ride on Good Friday. Just over two weeks old.

    IMG_1770a.jpg

Finally got the running boards installed. I guess I should have turned the truck on so you could see them light up.

Per the instructions I have them connected into the Day Time Running lights. Does anyone happen to know what color the accessory wire is in the engine bay? Currently with them connected to the DRL they only come on during the day. I'd like them on when the truck is on. If you want to know, they are the Armordillo FX running boards. The light modes are parking and turn signals. Bunch of small dashes on the side for parking/running and a sequential turn signal. I'm thinking of the accessory wire so I get them on at night as well for better visibility to other drivers. If anyone knows what the color of the accessory wire is in the engine bay, please let me know. Thanks.

Where'd you snag those? Particularly the glove box letters that appear to match pretty well.

Ended up doing blue stitching on my Clazzio covers. It was worth the ~4 month wait to give me a little grin when I see it.

I fell in love with this color when I saw it the first time at a dealership with the black out package, took a while to find one, but I am glad I waited for it.

I think the people that dismiss it as being "purple" need to take their polarized sunglasses off. It's a great color and I think I might not grow tired of it over time like I'm fairly sure I would with some of the other blues and colors.

that's what happened to me, I had my magnetic grey in for a battery and walked past a blue crush in the showroom with the blackout, that was it... I made a deal the next day. Took 4 months to get it though!

this is my brand new BCM TRD off-road, absolutely love the colour, waited months for it even though the dealer kept offering me other colour trucks as they got delivered. As others have mentioned it’s very rare to see, I see tons of tacomas everywhere I live and I have yet to see one on the road in blue crush metallic or “Blurple” as my father in law calls it. And if ya’ll were wondering about combining bronze wheels with this kind of blue, wonder no more! Amazing colour combo :101010:

Don’t forget to get your touch up paint for the truck. Also, you can get the micro-dabbers. They make a difference vs just using the brush. The guys at automotivetouchup.com have our paint (8W7) - they call it Dark Metallic Blue. I called them and they said yes, it really is BCM. I’ve got a 2oz bottle on order. I have had good luck with their touch-up paints with past Toyota/Lexus vehicles.

A couple of non BCM questions if you’ll be so indulgent.
I’m 613 miles into the 1,000 mile break-in period. I had to my office today, 50 highway miles from the house. So i drove my wife’s NX300h. Anyone else doing the old school 1,000 mile break-in? Also, I’m thinking about going to the TRD oil filter when I change the oil at the 1,000 mile mark. Anyone have experience with those? From my research they seem to be worth the money.

And you got the access cab, so even less of those around.

    The wheels look great!
