I've been trying to convince myself that this painting is finished. I'm not sure yet. I wanted to do a painting inspired by sepia photography, so only using one color.

My handlebar mustache was a pain in the ass messing with a friggin' little 'stache comb and wax. The right side stayed up like a teenagers hard on, the left side always drooped like... well, you get the idea.
I was never a baseball fan, so I'm not sure if I had it before Rollie Fingers, but good riddance to both Rollie and my handlebars when I first grew a beard.
Then my Grandchildren thought I was Santa Clause. Next was the Miami Vice look. I still do that Don Johnson thing maybe once a month. The little lady never even notices anymore.
I found a case of original Schick Injector blades on E pay maybe ten years ago that will far outlast my needs.

    Good morning Pals and Gal.

26° here in Connecticut and a high of 50° Forecast for this coming Friday is 85° Unusual to say the least.
I'll clean the coil on the central a/c this week, picked up two cans of foam coil cleaner yesterday at HD.

Today I'm smoking some fresh kielbasa I picked up at the local Polish deli/bakery. For we of Eastern European heritage it's an Easter must have.

My youngest son was married in Hawaii yesterday. Whole thing was on the beach. Beautiful. I can't fly anymore, so didn't go. The rest of the family coming in today for Easter muster. I was drafted to help with essentials.
This year, I WILL load the dishwasher. Others like to help, but food gets everywhere, and it's always overloaded. Evidently no one owns a dishwasher. IDK

Finally, our Oven, Microwave, Warming Drawer Saga comes to a close. The oven died last Thanksgiving after a 17 year lifespan followed by the microwave 2 months ago. Of course, no one now makes a triple combo in the size we needed to fit the cabinet. KitchenAid (The original was a Thermador) makes a wall oven/microwave combo and a separate warming drawer but only makes the drawer in stainless, not black as Lynn wanted. Ordered the combo in early January-finally arrived last week. Found a black warming drawer from Viking and had to do a little cabinet spacing mod and chase a new electrical circuit but it’s done finally - still need to patch a small hole we needed to cut in the ceiling above the basement bar to fish the wire. Having radiant in floor heat in lightweight concrete made things a bit more challenging to find a way to get the wire back to the power panel. Life is good!! Lynn is happy!!

    Out with the old.

    In with the new.

I think I will try the kit. I have always buffed sealed and waxed headlights. When I see lifetime finish on a car product, I am always skeptical, Most have never tested the product for a year on big city freeways and beltways. Did you do the brick work on the sides of the driveway? Looks great.

You have a nice camping setup.

 I am smoking some Turkey Kielbasa for dinner tonight.

Good morning. Up early today to spatchcock 2 chickens to put on the smoker tomorrow morning. I will rake them out of a wet brine tonight and dry brine them overnight in the fridge. We have a lot to do today for dinner tomorrow, so I will be busy. We went out to a wine bar last night for some wine and music. It was a pleasant evening.

Our credit card was compromised on Thursday. Should have a replacement on Monday. I only made 2 purchases on Thursday, one in a grocery store and the other on line. I think I will start using PayPal for all on line purchases. I only store the credit card info at one place on line.

Morning 60+ :hattip:25* and sunny here
Going to make it 50* today . Eye discussion: had left vitrectomy to repair 10 tears and a detached retina ,3 tears repaired in right eye . Both eyes cataracts after that . Was a side affect of the laser surgery. Both capsules after cataract surgery clouded up and had them lasered clean . All this left me with major floaters in my right eye and slight double vision . I can still drive and hunt so
Also today is the second day of survival after a tree limb fell from about 40’ on my head while cutting a tree down . CAT scan showed no bruising or bleeding on the brain . Nice puncture wound and sore neck and head though . Feels better today . Forestry helmet on the way here as we speak . Been using a chainsaw for 40 years and this is my first injury :anonymous:
Getting old is better than the alternative :D

Wow Bill...glad you're okay, that's some scary stuff. Is there followup on the scan? I just picked up a forester hardhat a month ago. Been lucky so far that ive never needed one. And that sticker...

I’m scheduled for a yearly physical on Monday with my primary doctor which is in the hospital where I had the scan . I’m going to have her look it over also . Never saw the dead top or limb that hit me . Probably because my eyes suck . Tree was only about the diameter of my arm but very tall .Dead center top of the head ,knocked me right to the ground . Still have a slight headache above my left eye and a sore neck .

Back to eye discussion for a moment...
I've done track days (automobile) for a number of years. Past few years I felt like I was "seeing" differently. Not poorer vision or slower reflexes, just that I was processing visual information "differently" is the only way I can describe it. One of the groups I run with brought in an ophthalmologist to speak to us as many of us are...mature. Something he told us was ambient brightness was a factor. His advice was do not use a tinted helmet shield or sunglasses unless absolutely necessary. I'd worn sunglasses on light overcast days for years, no longer. Granted, his advice was very track specific and not applicable to street driving and said wear sunglasses regularly for UV eye protection. Apparently it wasn't just all in my head....

    Morning all:

Be glad Bill that you only ended up with a bump on the head, I knew a couple guys that had the same thing happen to them, one ended up with permanent brain damage. Good idea on getting a helmet, my neighbor always wears a helmet like Dennis posted while cutting trees.

    Nice looking replacement appliances Mark.

Travir, nice paintings, I have trouble drawing a stick figure!

06Tacooo, congratulations to your son and his wife and to you and your new extended family.
