I'm curious if the base black bumper, and the color matched bumpers are the same material before prime and paint.. I'm pondering the idea of color matching my base one, but don't want the orange peel look it seems it might get, and don't want it peeling either. Will be sprayed professionally, not rattle canned too. Is my best bet getting a color matched and re-spraying? Thanks

Silver, we have already crossed paths!

I have been pondering removing them and getting the holes body worked, but no time soon. I do have a good memory on these types of things, so maybe in the future..

I am with you on the base bumpers and wheel flares.

Every vehicle I have had since the mid 90s had had color coded bumpers. (we had an 87 Subaru and a 91 Honda with the black bumpers).

Each of the colored bumpers took some abuse (corner scuffs in parking lots, top scrapes from parallel parking) with the base plastic color showing through.

The auto manufactures gave us the color bumpers because "that is what we wanted" even thought it is not a practical as the black plastic ones.

I am sort of glad to have the base black bumpers. I picked up a small scratch in the front but since it does not stand out it has not bugged me like it most certainly would have on a colored bumper.
