Just enough to look kinda cool.
    Like fish in a barrel…

I had to go pick up a truck and trailer from the local weight scale. Driver I guess got flagged in and checking his paperwork he had a warrant out for his arrest. It was a preference police tow so I can drop it wherever the company wants but they have to pay police rates. Well I got it dropped in a truck stop so they could get another driver out to it and called to get payed. The dispatcher started to haggle the price but accepted it before I could tell him I’ll just take it to my yard and keep it safe. Dude was even told the price upfront and I should have added an extra hour for port to port.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
All week, guys had been wondering what Good Friday was going to bring. It's on the holiday schedule with a disclaimer that 'depending freight loads, may be a day of work'. Well, Wed afternoon, the boss sends out a company wide message that Fri is a regular work day...yay. Thurs afternoon, dispatch sends out a company wide message for all drivers to 'make sure to check your departure times'.

Just got out of the shower this morning, phone's ringing...it's work. Good morning, you're off today...no freight...see ya Mon.

Both of my daily drivers, lol. The weather is supposed to finally break here next week and have lows only in the 40's and highs in the 70's most days. Thats fun weather to be on an ebike. From now until winter I'll only drive the taco on rain days. Ride to work on the ebike and then jump in a semi, lol, talk about extremes.20220412_072837.jpg

2.5 hours and I'm done, one run of 2 bins at 2k. What a waste, made me work a holliday weekend for that? I wanted a short day but come on, I could have stayed at home.

Replacement housing and touch up paint arrived. Replacing other side as well. Having one side shiny new and the other side 18 yrs worn would irritate me. Need to get some new bulbs as well today.

Get some LED reverse bulbs definitely worth it. Love having bright reverse lights.

Went to go look at a new-to-me Ram 3500 today. Honestly really loved the truck, but I'm still on TacomaWorld... so there's that. Reckon if I'm dropping 60k on a used truck, I'll just finance another 10 and get a new one... o_O

Back to the ISX15 tomorrow. Heading down to Pooler, GA. Get my trailer assembled to load Monday in Brunswick.

Pretty sure you don't have to be toyo to be on tw. Drove a couple ferds and rams, really liked my tundra over those. Sold tundra, didn't drive it enough to justify the payment.

It really surprised me, honestly. It was the Laramie trim so it had a lot of bells-n-whistles my base TRD doesn't have -- and torque. Lots and lots of torque. I knew that, though.

Perfect road manners for a 3500 SRW, didn't feel 'big', drove like a dream... I just couldn't bring myself to get over the possibility of automatic 68RFE issues. If I could find the same trim, similar miles and price, manual G56. It will be sitting in my driveway. I'm fortunate enough to have a truck that is paid off and not a real big hurry to upgrade/trade/anything. I'm still gonna keep an eye out for one.

I've had a Tacoma my whole life. They've grown stale to me. Reliable, but stale. I don't love it anymore. And with a larger family on the horizon... well, I want a one-size-fits-all for myself.

I will say it had some NITTO Ridge Grapplers on it.... was very surprised how quiet those were.

I'm keeping my Tacoma. It's still brand new after 2 years, I'm getting close to 7k miles. It cost me less than what they want for full size American garbage. It does all I need it to do. It's more maneuverable, and definitely more reliable, more fun to drive too. And this is all coming from a guy that has owned many fully loaded gmc trucks. Phooey, you can keep the American garbage from woke ass companies. I live in the motor city, at least it used to be, not anymore!
